Old School House is a beautiful, eco property in Altnaharra, with spectacular views across the countryside and beyond. The property is in an immaculate condition throughout with attention to detail in every room.. All on the Ground Floor:

Walking through the front door you will be amazed by the bright airy open plan living area with wood burner. The living room has modern sofas and a Smart TV, and the dining area has a modern table and four chairs. The fully equipped modern kitchen has everything you need for cooking a holiday feast, the room has been perfectly thought out so whilst meals are being prepared no one misses out on conversations about the experiences of the day. There is a utility cupboard off the kitchen with a washing machine.
Through the hall there are two spacious bedrooms, bedroom one has a kingsize bed, bedside cabinets lamps, chest of drawers and wardrobe space, and an en-suite shower room with walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail and toilet. Bedroom two also has a kingsize bed, bedside cabinets, lamps, chest of drawers and a modern hanging facility. The main shower room is next to bedroom two with a walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail and toilet. Both shower rooms have designer fitments, luxurious towels, and toiletries.
The property has parking for up to three vehicles with a shed for storing bicycles, fishing rods, etc. There is a seating area to the rear of the property, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the surrounding scenery. This tranquil property is located in the Hamlet of Altnaharra, and only a 5 minute walk to the local hotel restaurant and pub.
Altnaharra is situated between the larger villages of Tongue, on the North Coast 500 route, and Lairg to the south where you can access the east and west coasts of Sutherland. You will be based right in the heart of Sutherland, the perfect location to climb the most northerly Munro’s of Ben Hope and Ben Klibreck or the smaller Corbetts of Ben Hee and Ben Loyal, also known as the queen of Scottish mountains. Spectacular views of these mountains and various freshwater lochs are on your doorstep along with wildlife such as red deer, ospreys and golden eagles. You can also view the Atlantic salmon leaping at the falls of Shin near Lairg.
Famous links golf courses such as Dornoch, Tain and Golspie along with the unique 9 hole courses of Bonar Bridge and Durness are all within an hour’s drive away. Durness is also the location of the spectacular Smoo Cave, a large sea and freshwater cave, and nearby is a thrilling zip line experience over one of the most beautiful beaches in the highlands. To the southeast lies Dunrobin Castle with its falconry displays and the whisky distilleries of Glenmorangie and Balblair where you can enjoy a tasting tour. Altnaharra is also a starting point of the Strathnaver Trail, which incorporates remains of settlements from the Highland Clearances, Iron Age brochs and other monuments, the trail finishes in the village of Bettyhill with a museum telling the stories of the people that once lived here.
