Disappointing Stay at a Great Location
When we arrived, we saw that the garage was occupied by another car. When we walked in the mudroom, we smelled the garbage overflowing from a garbage can wedged between the car in the garage and the door to the mudroom. The garbage was removed a couple of days later.When we went upstairs, we saw that the high-end dishwasher and ice maker were in poor condition, and that much of the kitchenware was dirty. There was also no rack for drying the (dirty) kitchenware, and no dish towels whatsoever in an otherwise well-outfitted kitchen. We then went to tour the bedrooms and found that the blinds in two of the bedrooms were broken halfway up and halfway down.Next morning we discovered that the hot water came and went because of a faulty heater – in winter. A contractor came to fix the heater partway through our stay, but the issue wasn’t fully fixed by the time we left. Two of the showers had loose and heavy handles that fell off when we were showering and could easily have resulted in broken toes. The shower handles and bulb were addressed by some helpful contractors – on the last day of our stay.The hot tub was one of the reasons we chose this property, but it tripped the circuit breaker to the entire house making it unusable.The owner’s representative was reasonably responsive when we communicated the foregoing issues, sending the contractors over and indicating a willingness to make everything right with a discount or credit, and then he ghosted us.Great location!
