Fabulous modern designer hotel

Pros: The design aspect. The facilities in the room.
Cons: Ability to charge drinks from the bar to the room (can be done for breakfast so why not in the evening?)
Location: Walkable to Bree Street where there are nice restaurants and bars (but not after dark).
We really liked our stay at this hotel. The design was fabulous, room was beautiful, all the facilities were great. Had a quiet room on the 4th floor (the hotel only goes up to the 4th, above that is apartments). No noise from building work (other reviews have mentioned this but we didn't experience it). The Sky Bar is gorgeous with an amazing view over cape town. We had a nice view of table mountain from our room. The reception staff were super friendly and helpful. There are three great restaurants attached to the hotel (Sky bar does food until 8pm, Cattle Barron downstairs does amazing steaks and there is also a great sushi bar behind the hotel). This is great if you don't want to go out as walking around cape town at night isn't really an option - we definitely didn't feel very safe after dark. The shuttle bus runs to the waterfront which is lovely at night, but its only once an hour. Room had everything you could want, including a washing machine and tumble dryer, mini kitchen, full size fridge, nespresso machine, safe, toiletries and the most amazing and massive bed. Plug sockets were South African and European. The only down sides were that the pool is minuscule and not really conducive to a swim when there are people sat right beside it eating and drinking, its more of a fashion statement than anything of practical use for swimming! Also that you cannot charge drinks/food from the roof top bar to the room (although you can charge breakfast).
