tout est fourni à la cabine, apportez simplement vos articles d'hygiène personnelle. il y a un minimum de 3 nuits pour tous les jours fériés et les week-ends des événements de l'UES doivent être réservés ensemble des frais supplémentaires pour un vendredi ou un samedi. Petite plage pour la baignade - utilisez à votre discrétion. il y a un canoë disponible sans frais. il y a un foyer sur la plage. attraper et relâcher la pêche est ok à l'étang. il y a de l'achigan, du crapet arlequin et du poisson-chat. Il y a un foyer extérieur et une terrasse en bois. Un gril à gaz est disponible (je fournis le gaz) gril à charbon disponible si vous fournissez le charbon de bois. La cabine a une cheminée de roche ruisseau. le bois est disponible moyennant un supplément
Nos clients nous ont dit qu'ils avaient particulièrement apprécié cette cabane pour son excellent état général. Lors de votre séjour, vous ne serez qu'à quelques minutes de marche de Southern Illinois University. Une salle de jeux vidéo est disponible. No communication at all. Other people were there when I got there.
As a woman it’s scary to get to your VRBO rental and have 2 men come out saying they were renting it and staying there. I never got a phone number from the owner and ended up getting it from the guy who was already unpacking there. The door was unlocked as well according to those people. They called the owner and told them they were in the wrong cabin so they left, but i don’t know what they could have added or left in the place or if they even lied. Lots of dust everywhere and not clean in terms of dusting. The shower curtain had a lot of black mold on it. Very beautiful bedroom surrounded by windows and was amazing to wake up surrounded by nature and trees. The drive up was weird considering other people live around the area and leave their garbage out. I was just uncomfortable and uneasy and wish I had contact with the host. I even texted the number after our stay to let them know I started a load of towels in the laundry for them and got no response. Overall liked staying here, just not worth the price and felt a little unsafe.

Quaint little cabin in the woods!
We were only in town for a short time attending an event in Makanda. We decided to stay at the cabin on the hill and were not disappointed! Tom is a fantastic host with great communication. It was everything we expected and we would highly recommend to anyone.

Peace before SIU drop-off
My son & I stayed at the property the night before freshman move in at SIU. The cabin was clean, cozy & comfortable. We fed the turtles and fish in the lake. It was a peaceful night before the craziness of move in.

If you like the movie Hoarders...this place is for you
Where do I start!! To get to this cabin you drive through roughly a half mile of pure filth. From random trash to store manicanes, he has it all. So much that you have to squeeze your vehicle through the Roadway. Once you enter, you are greeted with only 1 bed, no sofa sleeper as promised. So beware..it only sleeps 2 not 4. If you can get passed this, pay no attention to the 3 inch thick filth that covers every inch of the cabin. It is apparent the pictures taken were the last time it has been cleaned. We expressed our concerns to Tom, and he told us we would get a full refund so we left. Do not believe Tom, he is shady and lies. We still have not gotten a refund because we did not wqnt to stay with bugs- filth- hoardinf- and naked manicanes. We have plenty of pictures of you need to see them. roqdway. road, barely fitting.

Little cabin with all you need.
The cabin was nice, exactly as pictured. It was a great location to go into Carbondale to eat, down the road to hike Giant City, or drive 30 minutes to several hikes or wine tasting in the area. We appreciated the friendly host and well equipped cabin.

Enjoyed the stay
The first impression was not so good. Once we turned into the area, my wife and I thought, "What have we gotten ourselves into?" The place looked like a junk yard. Inside the cabin was very different. It was everything it was advertised to be. It was small and cozy. I’m glad we had no kids with us. That would have been a tight fit, but for the two of us, fine. It was neat, clean, and comfortable. AC worked just fine. We did use the kitchen a little and was very glad for it. I was happy to find it had a full size coffee maker, not one of those 4 cup models and a full size refrigerator.

We love going down to Shawnee National Forest, my husband and I and our dog went we found this amazingly affordable cabin, close to SIU, and the hiking spots. It was perfect, we even extended our stay I already recommended it to some of our friends, family, and coworkers

Unfriendly host and unkept property
Called an hour before arriving like requested and they still weren't prepared. When i showed up tom was upset i bought my own fire wood from the Walmart in town. Property was unkept and hideous(garbage and junk all around). The cabin is in desperate need of repairs. Had to clean PUBES OF THE TOILET so my girlfriend could use it. Not a friendly host. Not a good property. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
