Bring your family to our 1890 cozy home with lots of room for everyone including the pups! Centrally in the Village of Carthage, not far from Fort Drum & Watertown NY. You'll be in walking distance to the Village Park, Post Office, Restaurants, Churches,and local YMCA. The home is located 8 miles from the Fort Drum Wheeler Sack gate entrance. Minutes from hiking, boat launches & in the winter, snowmachine trails! Relax by the river & lakes for some fishing & swimming. (We are not directly on a lake or river as VRBO claims)Check out the wineries & antique store! Sitesee1000 Islands both US & Canadian side! Whitewater rafting, the zoo, golfing & so much more to see & do!
A twin rollaway bed or queen air mattress can be provided upon request during the time of booking for anyone who is unable to climb stairs to the 2nd floor bedrooms or if you have more then 8 guest staying the night. Guest 9 & 10 we'll provide an air mattress. Guest 11 Twin rollaway bed. Guest 12 twin air mattress or couch. There are also french doors in the living room for privacy for the rollaway bed or air mattress. (**if you unfold the rollaway, it must be laid down 1st before opening) booking must reflect number of guests for air mattress or rollaway bed.

Best booking I've ever had on VRBO!
We rented this place as a get together for a dinner after getting my wedding dress in Watertown and it was the best decision we made all weekend! From the ease of location the amazing kitchen facility and how open every room was for us to play games and all hang out It was absolutely perfect! Mark and June made the entire place so accommodating for every single person that I had including the two infants and all the adults that were there! Highly recommend staying here especially with how fantastic the communication was between the hosts and myself! 10 out of 5 stars!

Absolutely perfect home
My family and I stayed at this location for the weekend as we were attending a wedding in the area. We couldn’t be more pleased with our stay. The hosts were gracious, very communicative up front, and responsive. The house was immaculate, the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in. We were greeted with snacks and waters upon arrival which was a delight. The house is spacious and is equipped with everything you could need. There is a fenced in back yard and deck with plenty of chairs and a grill. The bedrooms were large and the beds and bedding very comfortable. There are two full bathrooms which is fantastic for a large family like ours. We had a wonderful stay and recommend this to anyone coming to Carthage! Thank you again Mark and June!

This was a perfect location to use to be closer to my nephews sporting event. The location was as described and in perfect working order. Communication with the hosts was excellent. The neighborhood is very quiet and there is plenty to do in the area. I would consider staying here again if available and I was in the area.

Everything you need
We stayed for a full week and we had everything we could possibly need. Mark and June have made sure their home is equipped with anything and everything you could possibly need while away from home. The house is quite spacious and extremely comfortable. Everything is clean and well maintained. Having a washer and dryer there was a huge plus. Mark and June give you your privacy but are just a message away if you need anything. The neighborhood is super quiet and safe and it's not far from Watertown. If you're looking for a comfortable home to stay in that's spacious and has everything a home needs then this is the place to stay.

Stayed here as overflow lodging since my sister’s place can no longer accommodate everyone. It was clean and comfortable. Owners were helpful and friendly. There is a village ordinance against parking on the street at night; there were no signs, but a neighbor was kind enough to remind us.

Great visit
Communication with host was great. Very friendly and helpful. The house was perfect for our family as we visited with our soldier. It was well stocked with all the necessities plus a few bonuses that other places we've stayed in didn't have. The kitchen was well socked with items so mom could make meals for her family. The neighborhood was nice and so quiet. A park for the young ones was just up the road. Overall was a great place and experience. Will be looking at again when we come to visit our soldier.

Cozy Farmhouse
Our family of 4 (5 including our dog) enjoyed our stay at the Cozy Red Farmhouse. The house was even better in person! Clean and well kept, it also had everything we needed for the 8 days we were there. Kitchen well stocked. Hosts extremely hospitable and easy to communicate with. Fenced in yard was great for our dog. Short drive to food options and walking trails along the Black River. Definitely recommend!

The best property we have stayed at
We were in Carthage for 2 burials of family and so glad we found this. We didn’t want to stay in Watertown. We needed a place to relax and this was the perfect place. It was clean and well prepared. They also had a high chair, portable crib, and pictures of a cow and pig in the living room. The pictures entertained the baby quite often. She kept walking over to them and pointed (especially at the cow.)

Cute Cozy Cottage
We are a retired couple visiting Daughter/ grandkids who live on base at Ft Drum. It was a great place for her to come to and bring her newborn and toddler during day, and us to stay with our pup at night. Cute town in walking distance and park! A glitch occurred At check in, not the fault of hosts! It was immediately handled with no issues! This place was super clean and had “everything” we needed and more to make our stay exceptional, and enjoy our family time together! It is an older house, with steep stairs, which was ok with us, but some may need to consider. We loved it, and will book in future trips!

Owners were excellent in communicating. Very accommodating and house was well stocked with necessities as well as little extras. We only stayed for one night but will stay longer if back in the area. Close enough to walk to some restaurants and pharmacy.

Excellent Property and Location!
Our stay was awesome! The property is centrally located and allowed us to experience the 1000 islands, Tibbets Lighthouse, Kingston Canada and Saggets Harbor. It was also the perfect location for a wedding we were attending at Tug Hill Estate. The street is quiet and neighbors were friendly. The cleanliness of the property is better then most high end hotels we've stayed. The house may be from the late 1800 but it is moden inside and has a warmth about it. The property managers were great to work with. I definitely recommend this property and would stay here again if the need arises.

Small Town Charm
We loved the property. The home is in a quiet neighborhood. It has a beautiful front porch and back deck, which was relaxing to hang out. The home is clean, well-maintained and spacious. It is very welcoming. There were special touches, i.e. "Items You Forgot to Pack" kit. The hosts were very helpful and responsive. It is located in a quiet small town. It's not too far from shopping and restaurants in nearby Watertown, or for heading to the zoo or Lake Ontario for a day on the beach.

Needed a place nearby to take my mother-in-law to her class reunion in Carthage. The house was perfect for our stay and the owners weee very receptive and quick to respond to any questions. Wonderful neighborhood. Great that it allows dogs and would like to return and bring our dog with us.

Field trial accommodations
I came up to spend some time with my son and run my retriever in the CNYRC held a little south of Copenhagen. The property was perfect, close by to the training grounds as well as the trial grounds. Carthage has place for groceries, I grilled steaks one night with veggies, appliances were great. Quiet neighborhood with wonderful neighbors. The owners were available by phone, text and email if I had questions. Mark and June were wonderful hosts, I highly recommend their place
