The idyllic riverside location is perfect on a calm cove with expansive views of the Withlacoochee River as it flows by into Lake Rousseau.
The perfectly designed split-bedroom floor plan has the Master Bedroom Suite on one side of the Great Room, and the Office/Library/Study, and Guest Wing with two bedrooms and the second bath on the other side.
In a classic great-room floor plan, the fully-equipped kitchen flows into the dining nook and overlooks the gathering area with its 55” flat screen television, top-of-the-line sofa bed, and extra chairs for lots of social interaction.
The heart of this home is the kitchen. Multiple prep stations, including a butcher block island, enables family-built meals. The cooking island with the new stove and faces the gathering area so you don’t miss any of the fun! The cooking island countertop seating makes sure everyone is part of the kitchen action! The kitchen is is fully stocked and equipped with all the equipment you will need to cook, right down to spices you might use.
Bi-fold doors close off the great room from the Office/Library/Study room. Desk provided to accommodate your work or school technology space needs. The library also has lots of books to enjoy and a comfy recliner.
All the bedrooms are fully furnished with new mattresses and comfortable furniture.
The Master Suite has a king-size bed, walk-in closet, and a windowfront seating area for morning coffee while viewing the bird feeders, the gardens, and the expansive lake views. The Master bath has a water closet, large double shower, two sinks, and a bath tub.
The separate guest wing has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the other with twin beds. The guest bathroom has a large shower with its own water heater. There is a pocket door so that the entire Guest Wing can be closed off from the Great Room. I had teenagers, and even had extra soundproofing put in the walls that are shared with the great room!
The thirty-seven-foot screened lanai has an outdoor dining area that seats eight and a tiki bar with stools. A safety pool fence separates the 10’x5’ in-ground heated Spa/Mini-Pool. Access to the spa/pool is through the office/library. All towels and linens are supplied, including extra towels in the spa/pool cabinet. You will appreciate the laundry room with a new large-capacity washer and dryer and ample storage for your luggage.
Guest parking includes a carport and a paved brick parking area for up to a total of six cars.
The modern technological amenities include wireless internet at mm400 MBPS, Spectrum TV service on four televisions, multiple charging stations, Smart Thermostat, and spa/mini-pool timer with temperature adjustment.
The Lanai opens out onto a wood seating deck connecting to the outdoor grilling and lounging patio. The lanai and patio both overlook spectacular and well-maintained gardens filled with seasonal colorful flowers, a globe fire pit with ample sitting benches, well-lit strolling paths, and a hammock to doze in on those gorgeous Florida days. All with the backdrop of the amazing lake and wildlife viewing. Bird feeders in a beautiful butterfly garden, attract many types of birds and butterflies.
As you continue to explore outdoors, you will discover a lakeside seating deck, a new dock with a second seating deck, the quaint firepit surrounded by benches, a canoe garden, the secluded hammock, a kayak rack and five kayaks, and a firewood storage area.
The dock allows boat access to the river and lake using your own boat or the provided kayaks.
BRINGING A BOAT? The largest size boat that can tie up at the dock is center console, 19 feet max. Depth at dock is 4-5 feet. If you plan to fish the lake outside the marked river channel, you will need a trolling motor. The closest public boat ramp to the house is Goldendale - 2.3 miles down the road. Once launched, motor West (left) through the winding, marked river channel. Stay between channel markers! At channel marker 117 the cove will be on your left. Carefully idle speed to the dock. There are sometimes stumps, depending on water level. Go slow. There is no saltwater access from here.
The Nature Coast offers abundant opportunities for recreation, all within short drives.
You can visit the quaint historic Dunnellon (boomtown of the 1880’s) shops. Nearby Rainbow Springs State Park, headspring of the Rainbow River, ranked the #1 destination spring in Florida and a gem not to be missed.
Crystal River and its quaint shops, on the Gulf Coast, only a 20-minute drive, is known for scalloping in season. A little further south is Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park featuring Floridian animals and birds. Boat tours on both the Rainbow and Withlacoochee Rivers show the beauty of the area. Hiking on the many accessible trails, biking and fishing are other popular activities. Tour one of the many thoroughbred horse farms.
Wherever you go play, please consider bringing back a brochure to add to the guest packet!

A Perfect Getaway!
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this property! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the cleanliness and attention to detail. The house was exactly as described, if not better. The location was perfect, offering stunning views and easy access to local attractions.
The host was incredibly responsive and helpful, providing us with all the information we needed for a smooth check-in and a comfortable stay. The amenities were top-notch, including a well-equipped kitchen, cozy living spaces, and comfortable beds. We especially enjoyed the outdoor area, which was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful weather.
Overall, this was one of the best vacation rentals we’ve ever had the pleasure to visit. e highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing getaway. We can’t wait to return!

Home away from home!!
This was the most amazing place we have ever stayed! We were originally staying here while visiting my grandparents right after Hurricane Helene. While staying there they announced Hurricane Milton. On the day that we were supposed to leave we contacted Jennifer and she let us stay an extra night while we figured out what we were going to do. She had a cancellation that day because of the Hurricane and we were able to stay through Hurricane Milton.
My Grandparents were in a mandatory evacuation zone and they stayed with us.
We were all safe and comfortable. Jennifer was fantastic and checked in on us throughout the storm. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and a better host!!
We were there for about 1.5 weeks and it felt like we were at home. The beds were comfortable. The place was super clean. It has all the amenities that you can think of and more. The view is amazing!! It was like being in paradise!!
I will definitely be staying here again!! Thank you for making that stressful time during the Hurricane very relaxed and enjoyable for us!

Lots of activities
Great to have handicapped accessibility within the house and we were able to get a wheelchair all the way down to the dock, however was rocky/uneven on the pathway by the fire pit. Lake water at dock was shallow with a lot of vegetation during this time of year (August). We were able to catch one catfish and multiple perch from the dock. Nice to view birds, butterflies, utilize firepit and the small heated pool. Also grateful to vacation with two dogs on a leash in the partially fenced backyard. There were a few house maintenance issues typical for Florida lakefront living, of which the owners addressed during our stay or communicated to our liking. We had a nice time, thank you.

Great experience!
The house is beautiful, the backyard was amazing. My family thoroughly enjoyed our time and would recommend to anyone.
The kids really enjoyed the lizards and gator watching from the dock.

Awesome for families with disabilities!
This was our first family vacay since my husband's sroke and is in a wheelchair... it was such a smooth, comfortable, accessible, fun time. We all enjoyed the home and property. Plenty of space for everyone, organized and labeled amenities and supplies. Fishing off the dock, kayaking, cooking, grilling, and of course, the bird watching out if the picture window into the beautifully cultivated bird garden was so enjoyable. We surely hope to be able to return to this haven, a true Calming Cove.

Great time at Calming Cove

A beautiful house with a beautiful view
It was beautiful. The owners have thought of everything to make the place a slice of paradise. My 77 year old father was impressed. It takes a lot to impress him. House is much larger than it looks. The backyard is landscaped where you forget the neighbors. I give it 5 stars. Owner answered questions and was very helpful. Perfect getaway.

Relaxing retreat
Had a wonderful three night stay and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Loved just relaxing on the dock, kayaking, fishing, bird watching, and swaying on the hammock. Heated spa pool was wonderful, and great pizza just down the road. Hosts made check-in a breeze and every guest detail was given forethought and taken care of. Would stay again and our kids are thinking of doing the same with their friends. Perfect.

Nice place , well equipped.
Had a great time! Fished the lake and withacochiee river caught a lot of Bass and crappie , also caught a bowfin! There was tons of alligators around the lake I believe because they were mating , but i thought it was pretty wild! I Would definitely stay here again!

Awesome Views and Well Equipped
Had a wonderful stay. They thought of everything. Kitchen was well equipped including ceramic coated frying pans. Beds were comfortable. Pool was small but perfect size to float or do a little water aerobics. Jennifer was very helpful and responsive.

Calming Cove
My family & I really enjoyed our stay. The property was impeccable and has everything and more for a comfortable stay. We truly enjoyed the peaceful surroundings where nature abounds. A perfect location for a getaway! It has everything you need to relax and enjoy. Weather worked out perfect while we were there to enjoy some kayaking on the Rainbow River. Loved the nature sounds in the morning while watching the birds and squirrels. All very well kept. We did get to enjoy the spa/pool before we left for the weekend. A plus all around for the property and quick communication with the host!

Overall good.
The place was nice and clean. Lots of space for family, cooking, hanging out. Yard was awesome for playing games. We even roasted marshmellows over the fire. Paddling in the lake was great and saw lots of wildlife.
Their were only 2 downfalls.
1) The size of the dock. The picture made it feel like you could really hangout out there, but it's really just big enough to launch a kayak. We spent zero time on the dock and that had been something we'd been looking forward to.
2) My wife (not me) noticed an overall slight musty smell, and felt like maybe some of the blankets should have been washed (like the ones used on the couch.
But aside from those 2 issues, the place was great and we had a blast

We had a amazing stay. The house is the most well equipped house we have ever stayed at. The kitchen had everything we needed and more for our Thanksgiving dinner. Well marked so no searching for anything. We will be staying there again for sure.

Peaceful get away
Home met all expectations plus more. Kitchen had everything you need including air fryer, insta pot, crock pot, blender and etc. Everything was clean and comfortable chairs and beds. Fun to watch the birds and squirrels from the feeders just outside bedroom windows. If you are looking for open water view….this is not it. More like marsh…..still beautiful. Highly recommend this property.

Wonderful house, gorgeous view
This house is huge & has everything you need. The view from the living room & master bedroom is absolutely beautiful! It took us a few minutes to figure out the tv but we did get it figured out. The kitchen has absolutely everything you might need! The master bathroom is huge. Loved this home & hope to be able to come stay again.

Calming Cove
We rented this wonderful property for our 50th wedding anniversary and it was all we thought it would be. The hosts went all out to make sure our stay was comfortable and relaxing. Upon arrival we found a nice bottle of champagne and a card. Wow! The pool/spa and the dock on the lake were such an added delight. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone.

Rockin the River House
