Hotel Ibis er beliggende med indgang fra hovedbanegården - helt perfekt når man kommer med tog. Udsigten ud til pladsen er formidabel.

Leider gibt es keine Parkplätze, auch auf Nachfrage an das Personal konnte keine Hilfe geleistet werden. Abends tummeln sich die Obdachlosen und Betrunkenen vor dem Hotel. Als reisende Frau nicht gerade Vertrauenswürdig. Das Personal am Abend und Nachts ist mehr mit ihren Handy beschäftigt als mit dem Gast. Personal kann ab 20 Uhr eingespart werden. Man ist sowieso auf sich gestellt.

Good, but.....
The hotel was fine. You get what you pay for. Simple basic comfort. Unbeatable location. Connected to Köln Hauptbahnhof. But the front desk person (Alexandra) was very rude. She shouldn't be working in the service industry. She clearly didn't want to 'deal' with guests.

My room overlooked the square next to the cathedral.This was situated next to a taxi rank and entrance to railway station.A gathering of people below the window into the early hours was somewhat of an irritation.

Not what was expecting
The hotel is just a. Few steps from the Dome ( which is great) but at the same time the outside is dirty with all kinds of people. The room is tiny, the bathroom like a ship bathroom. We did not have breakfast there. (11 euros). No safe in the room which made us concerned because the location of the hotel.

Convenient, place to sleep
Hotel close to the station and everything great to see in Cologne! But was just a very basic room (tiny bathroom) and the bathroom didn't feel the cleanest. Hotel lobby and breakfast area have been remodelled but rooms are older and very basic. Everything was comfortable enough and the breakfast was good. Very convenient location.

Convenient location by main station and cathedral
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room had a lovely view over the main square by the cathedral and with the windows closed, was reasonably quiet at night. It was a bit disappointing that there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Also, the supply of shower gel and toilet roll was minimal and ran out the first night, although was replenished the second day. The bath towels were far too small and no hand towels provided. However, the room was a reasonable size, clean and comfortable and the hotel very conveniently located.

Close to main railway station
Excellent reception. We had access to our room at 11.00am when we arrived from south of Germany. Although we had booked through Expedia he had no record of our arrival but it wasn't a problem and he gave us Expedia's rate which was cheaper than his daily rate.

nice hotel , excellent location
nice hotel, excellent location overlooking the cologne Cathedral. Some of the staff were not particularly friendly, but others were ok. The room was small but very clean.

Central location and good value
As we were travelling around Europe by rail, the location of the Ibis Koeln Am Dom within the Hauptbanhof was very convenient. Staff were pleasant and helpful, the room (typical Ibis) was comfortable, clean and well maintained, and the buffet breakfast offered a wide choice. The central location allows very close views of the Dom, and exploration of the old town. Only downside was WiFi in the room incurred a charge.

Convenient location
The location of this hotel is excellent being central to the altstadt and literally under the Dom. I cannot fault the service, cleanliness or the comfort. The only downside was having to pay for Wifi in the rooms, although it was available downstairs in the lobby/cafe area.

Great location and surprisingly quiet
Great for the business traveler, sits literally inside the train station. I thought it would be noisy, but not at all. Also great location for seeing the city. Breakfast was great and a good price. I would recommend this as a great, no frills hotel for anyone who needs a good night sleep and wants to be centrally located.

Basic but Clean, Comfortable and Fantastic Location
This is a super nice Ibis. They provide real glasses for the bathroom and the room is spacious, relatively speaking. I needed a place to sleep for one night and wanted a place near the train station and easy access to shopping. This Ibis is very proximal. I had no trouble sleeping and am usually a light sleeper.
