Les points forts : Propreté et infrastructures et conditions de l’hébergement
Les points faibles : Personnel et service
Disappointed
The hotel boasts a beautiful facade and an enviable location, making it an ideal base for exploring the city.
Upon booking two standard rooms for over €450 (mid-week), we were initially delighted with our accommodations on the ground floor. The rooms featured spacious bathrooms and lovely terraces with direct access to the hotel’s charming garden, which was a delightful surprise.
However, our satisfaction was short-lived when, after a day of wandering through Dublin, my partner and I discovered that our room had no hot water. Despite making four calls to reception, it took some time before a solution was offered. We were eventually relocated to another room on the third floor. While this room did have hot water, it was smaller, less appealing, and had a noticeable odor—a stark contrast to our initial rooms.
At checkout, we conveyed our dissatisfaction with the experience, hoping for some form of compensation or gesture of goodwill. Unfortunately, all we received was an apology, which, while polite, did not quite make up for the inconvenience we faced.
In summary, while the Staunton on the Green has much to offer in terms of location and initial room quality, our experience was marred by the hot water issue and the subsequent handling of our complaint. For the price paid, one would expect all aspects of the stay to be seamless, or at least for the hotel to offer more than just an apology when they fall short.
