A Shore Thing on the Eau Claire River

3 bed, 2.5 bath, riverfront property that accommodates a total of 8 guests.

The Eau Claire River leads into beautiful Lake Altoona. The property and setting are perfect for a getaway with family & friends. The waterfront along the property offers a sandy beach. This area is shallow and great for swimming. It is perfect for small fishing boats or a kayak/canoe. Less than 10 minutes from Eau Claire.

Three bedrooms, one with king bed and two with queen beds. Finished basement living room features a bunk bed, perfect for kids!

Eau Claire and Chippewa counties offer many outdoor & indoor attractions & activities along with a variety of restaurants and local establishments. You can take a kayak trip down from Big Falls Park ending at the property or visit the local wineries and breweries including a tour of the Leinenkugel’s brewery and Lodge. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us for suggestions if you’re looking for ideas to plan your getaway! The sandy beach and shallow river are perfect for swimming (river does rise in spring and in rainy seasons).

Holiday Visit
A Shore Thing was a great getaway for our family during the holiday season. Jaci made sure we had holiday decorations and a warm cozy welcome. We were able to spend time with family and friends as it was close enough to downtown Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls. The view was beautiful and the house was clean and perfect for our family of 5. The house was stocked and ready for us to enjoy. We had a wonderful time in the area and can't wait to go back! We will be recommending A Shore Thing to our friends for sure!

Loved our stay!
Such a great weekend! We cannot say enough about A Shore Thing. It was even better than advertised!. We were more than pleased with and impressed by the house and the location. It was squeaky clean with a wonderful floor plan for our big group. There was plenty of space for sleeping and for hanging out. The location could not have been more picturesque with the water in the back and the beautiful woods in front. Our host, Jaci, was so easy to work with and very accommodating. We would highly recommend a stay here!

We loved it. Fishing was good right from the beach. The kayaks were fun and the river is not too deep. The house is spectacular and very comfortable! Close location to a tavern for a burger if you don't want to cook.

The place was immaculate, spacious enough for our family of 5 (all adults) and the view of the river was beautiful! Everyone enjoyed fishing, boating, paddle boarding and kayaking! Plus lots of fun things to do in the area. I’d highly recommend this place!

Amazing Getaway
We came up with our dog to hike and bike. Jaci was spot on with her recommendations for dog friendly trails and activities. The house is amazing so we made sure we were home in the evenings to enjoy the quiet and beautiful view. We loved it and so did our dog. We'll be back soon!

Fabulous view of the lake! We really enjoyed our stay and loved the gorgeous water views from the family room areas, kitchen, and dining area. Loved the open floor plan and all the different bedroom spaces. This house was the perfect set up for our multi family group. We all agreed that we would definitely book and stay again.

Nice family get together spot, great property managment.
Visiting relatives for the holidays and most of my direct family was there so instead of booking multiple hotel rooms we stayed here. The property has been updated, has a nice kitchen, good bathrooms and lots of gathering spots. Enough room for more family to spend a some time before heading off to bigger gatherings. Being December in Wisconsin, even without the snow, we weren't able to use the outside much so will need to come back so we can explore the river. The location is quiet and hidden but still only a few miles for most places we were going to. The property management was great. They made sure we could find the place and had it ready for us to use. It was decorated nicely for the holidays which made the space very inviting.

The property was beautiful and the home was so comfortable! This was our first time to the Eau Claire area and we would definitely come back! Host was very responsive and friendly. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME
We are so happy to have found this place! My husband and I along with 5 adult children spent 5 nights while in the area for our daughters wedding. We live all around the country so it was very nice to have a place with enough room for all of us to gather and reconnect. It made a great HQ (headquarters) with plenty of room for finishing wedding decorations. We never felt cramped and there was no tripping over each other while getting ready the day of the wedding. Even though we spent most of our time together, there were abundant areas for individuals to seek out some privacy if they felt the need. Communication with the host was very responsive. I would repeat all the positives from previous reviewers comments but I think you’ll get the message if I quote my husband: “Perfect! Worth every penny!” We will definitely stay here again and hope for more time so that we can take advantage of the abundant amenities!
