Welcome to Abruzzo and Casa Leone - we invite you to relax and enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of Italy’s least populated region. This is a special area of Italy – the 360 degree views from Casa Leone and as you travel to the nearby charming hilltop towns are breathtaking. Casa Leone is a 1300 square foot home with two large bedrooms and one bath. Set amongst 150 olive trees, it has panoramic views of the Gran Sasso and Majella mountains, is about 25 minutes from the Adriatic coast, with its miles of sandy beaches and also 35 minutes to the mountains. The house is perfectly positioned for a beach holiday, cycling or hiking or sitting on one of the balconies or the terrace and watching the sky as night falls. We live in the house next door to Casa Leone – the two houses are gated and share a common driveway. You will have all the privacy you want but we are available onsite for any questions or if you need anything during your stay. Casa Leone comprises two bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a queen bed and a bath with shower/tub and washer/dryer. There is a large living room with a TV as well as a smaller sitting room for reading. There is a fully-equipped and retro kitchen with an espresso maker, microwave, stove/oven, fridge/freezer, cookware, cooking utensils and toaster. We will provide you with as much olive oil as you can use – made from our own olives. The house has split air-conditioning/heating units in both bedrooms, the kitchen and the living room and wifi. Outside, you will find a large terrace with a dining table and chairs, sun loungers, a gas BBQ/grill and outdoor lighting for alfresco dining. The property contains olive trees and various types of fruit trees (including orange, plum, pomegranate, fig, walnut, almond) for you to enjoy, depending on the season. The nearest village is Elice, located about 1 km from Casa Leone. The countryside surrounding Elice is stunning and there are wineries and hill towns to explore, including Penne, Atri and Citta Sant’Angelo. Most small towns host a number of festivals throughout the year. There are direct bus and train services from Pescara to Rome and Ryannair operates regular flights from Stansted, Brussels, Frankfurt and Milan to Pescara airport. You will need a car to enjoy Casa Leone and there are car hires at the Pescara airport and Pescara train station. All guests, including children, must be present at check-in and show their government-issued photo ID card or passport
