L'évasion parfaite! Quatre d'acres niché admirablement dans la forêt environnante au sommet d'une montagne. Avec une vue spectaculaire sur les montagnes longues de plage et la campagne, Black Bear Retreat est l'endroit à couper le souffle que vous avez été chercher. Notre cabine est idéale pour les vacances en famille, escapade romantique, vacances, lune de miel, week-end escapade et plus!

Cette chambre quatre, trois salles de bain cabine confortable peut accueillir jusqu'à huit personnes, mais romantique pour seulement deux. Au niveau principal, vous trouverez une chambre avec un lit double avec un accès pratique à la cuisine et le salon. A l'étage, la chambre principale dispose d'un matelas king oreiller haut qui est si confortable que vous ne voudrez pas sortir du lit! La troisième chambre dispose d'un lit king confortable, et la quatrième chambre dispose d'un lit superposé avec deux lits jumeaux et un lit superposé double / complet pour un total de quatre. Cette chambre est idéale pour les enfants et dispose d'une TV / magnétoscope, bibliothèque de vidéos, des jeux et des livres pour enfants.

Cette spacieuse cabine 1800 pieds carrés a une grande plate-forme enveloppante avec table et chaises (y compris les deux rockers) et la montagne incroyable et des vues plus faibles de l'écart. Pour votre repas en plein air est un gril à gaz et de nombreux sièges. Dans la cour, vous trouverez une fosse de fer à cheval, des bancs pour l'observation des oiseaux, de beaux paysages et un foyer! La faune est abondante, surtout le cerf. Apportez un pique-nique et s'asseoir par le courant. Comme le soleil disparaît montre que le ciel illumine des maisons dans la vallée et les étoiles au-dessus.

Le salon offre beaucoup d'espace pour se détendre et étaler. La cheminée en pierre est idéal pour se détendre et de griller des guimauves. Il y a la télévision par satellite avec chaînes thématiques, Netflix pour les films sans fin, bleu Lecteur DVD ray, stéréo sans fil Bluetooth, vidéothèque, bibliothèque de livres, et une bibliothèque remplie d'une douzaine de jeux populaires.
La salle à manger offre des sièges pour jusqu'à huit à la table, et des sièges pour quatre autres au bar du petit déjeuner (plus nombreux sièges sur le pont pour l'extérieur cuisson / grill).

La grande cuisine offre toutes les commodités: lave-vaisselle, cuisinière, réfrigérateur, micro-ondes, refroidisseur de vin, Keurig (apportez vos K-tasses préférés), machine à M. Slightly disappointed
The house is gorgeous! We loved that part. However, there were several issues that we had. The owner was very nice when we contacted her for a stopped up tub. I am not sure the owner knows of the problems. But, quite a few things were misrepresented in the description but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay despite the issues.

Awesome area
Other than not realizing too many steps up to cabin and path was a little rough in places it was absolutely beautiful!!! Very clean but the wifi was not so great! Its true you should absolutely have a 4wd or awd getting up that path 😆 my mdx worked like a charm! Loved our stay!

How glorious a greeting the sun gives on the mountain
This is our second stay at the cabin. We have family in the area and this is our go-to vacation house. The views are just wonderful. Even family that came to visit said “Y’all have quite a view.” The house has all you need for a comfortable stay. Clean and welcoming. Our host was very responsive if we had questions. We saw deer 🦌, turkeys 🦃, and baby skunks with Mamma. When we visit we take advantage of the mill's wonderful simple fixings. We also had fun fishing and visiting wineries close by. Again, as many have mentioned, the driveway is straight up a mountain ⛰️. Awd or 4x4 recommend. We have a Sienna AWD and it didn't have a problem. Thanks again Pam for a great stay!

Great views
This property is in a great location for access to the Blue Ridge Parkway. You must follow the WAZE app to find the property as google maps is incorrect. The driveway is very steep, so a 4WD is essential, especially if there is rain, snow or ice. We were a family of 6 adults and the bedrooms were spacious and we each had a bathroom. There is a large porch on 2 sides of the property with views as far of Pilot Mountain and Winston on a clear day. Very sturdy furniture on the porch for relaxing with a coffee and doing some birdwatching. TV and Wi-Fi worked well so we enjoyed some World Cup Soccer games during our stay. It was very cozy and clean with a fairly well equipped kitchen for preparing meals. Despite a couple of maintenance issues, this is a pleasant house with room for larger groups and we recommend anyone to visit.

This property was just amazing. Yes we had a 4 wheel drive and did have to use it to get there. Our family had to park away from the house but it was all good. We put them in our truck and climbed that hill to the top. Thanks for the family memories we made this weekend. ❤️

Absolute Beautiful Cabin
We booked this property for my sons graduation from Virginia Tech even though it was an hour away from campus. We were so glad we did! The cabin was beautiful inside and had a spectacular view from top of the mountain. The property was clean and well stocked. The breakdown of bedrooms and baths worked perfectly for our family dynamic in attendance. I have to say the mattresses on the beds were the most comfortable we have experienced in any properties of places we have stayed over the last 4 years between home and Blacksburg. The owners were very helpful in answering any questions I had (and there were alot) leading up to our stay. I will say their recommendation for a 4 wheel drive vehicle is spot on . We had a pretty substantial amount of rain on Thursday and Friday so the 4 wheel drive came in handy. Can't wait to stay here again the next time our travels allow.

Only One Regret
My only regret was not planning a longer stay! Cabin was immaculately clean. Views were breathtaking (when the fog lifted). Quiet, remote neighborhood (plan meals carefully-there's no real "quick dash" to a supermarket). They're not kidding about using Waze to navigate there or needing 4-wheel or all-wheel drive to make it up the driveway (I recommend planning arrival for daytime so you can watch out for ruts and gulley-washes!..for the record, I made it up in my AWD CRV in L1 gear). Beds were exceedlingly comfortable (better than a high end hotel--seriously). Kitchen had everything and then some for food preparation (you might want to bring sharp knives, though). Internet was plenty fast when needed. Plan on about 25-45 minute drive to attractions. Owner very friendly. I highly recommend Black Bear Retreat! One more tip: wave your hand over the front door lock to make the numbers light up so you can enter the code, as it's motion activated.

Remarkable unbelievable view
One thing I want to say is Thank you so much Mrs. Robinson. Your place was so amazing my wife cried when she walked through the door. We was there celebrating our 3rd year anniversary and it was a surprise for her. She always been asking to stay inside a cabin, but this cabin was one of a kind with the amazingly beautiful view every morning waking up to. She enjoyed her cups of coffee every morning and night on the wrap around balcony. The sunsets and sunrise was beautiful to see every morning and evening. The inside of the house was just mouth dropping with the hard wood floors and sitting area in front of the fireplace. This place was equipped with multiple selection of games that kept us occupied during down time. There's so much more awesome qualities about this place I will be writing forever about how much I enjoyed/loved this place. There is one last thing I want to mention is the adventure in getting up to the cabin. The hill during day and night was a journey its self that made us laugh at the end and saying to one another that we finally made it to the TOP.

This property certainly has amazing views. But the driveway (they plainly state 4 wheel or all wheel drive is necessary) is a bit hard on the faint of heart! The WiFi is good and the cabin is very pretty and well appointed!

Perfect!
Although we were visiting for a sad event (burial of my father in law- Morris Cemetery), we enjoyed our stay very much! Everything was perfect! The views are better than any picture could capture. Kitchen amenities fit our needs and the check in/out process was smooth. Looking for a week in October 2022 that will work for everyone and we will be back for a longer stay.

Perfect But !!!!
1. They posted stickers stating you were being watched, we felt Very Uncomfortable, no problem outside , the stickers were on the inside to. Is that even Legal !! 2. Hot Tub. They said it was in operative. They had purchased a new one and had it locked down. The pictures showed and old one>> brand new one installed. No bid deal but they lied about it... 3. The Driveway. After talking to the neighbors >> the previous owners maintained >> (graded the driveway).. Not that way Now.. What a mess >> Asphalt company was biding neighbors >> Stated for around $ 6000.00 >> problem fixed. 4. The Garbage >> Yes Bears are there.. They broke into the garbage area >> ( cheap plastic ) container. They need a metal storage area that is bear proof>> with bigger cans. 5. Fix problems and you have a A+ >> As it stands D+

Best Views Come After the Hardest Climbs
Black Bear retreat was a wonderful place to get away from it all. The views were spectacular. The home itself had everything you needed for a wonderful vacation. We used the waze app and had no problem finding it. Of course as the owner has mention the driveway it steep, but our AWD Sienna went up it like a champ. The kids had a blast with all the tinker toys available. There was plenty of space for our family to visit us, but again 4x4 or AWD recommend. We saw a lot of wildlife. As I was having a cup of coffee on the porch three deer strolled by. We also saw a ground hog, some turkeys and lots of rabbits. The kids kept their eyes peeled for new creatures everyday. Since we are from the area we did a lot of exploring on the parkway and fishing at crooked creek. I have to say this was a great place to stay to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary and get lost in all the wonder.

Experience was good. Google maps will not get you there so take the advice and download the app they recommend. The place was great. View was amazing. Would've been nice to be able to use the hot tub but they were up front about it before I rented. 4 wheel drive is a must. Had a friend try it with a car just for kicks and he didn't make it. Quiet. Peaceful. The AT is less than 1.5 hours away. We drove there twice and got almost 20 miles in. Would definitely rent again if I go down that way.

Our stay at the cabin was the perfect get away. Easy adventure to the Parkway, Meadows of Dan, Galax, and Mt. Airy. The views were phenomenal. The driveway itself is an adventure, but we wouldn’t change a thing. Great stay!

Getting away from it all
Just exactly what we needed. A weekend away from it all with espectacular views. Cabin is as described. A bumpy road up to the house, but no major issues as long as you ha a four wheel drive vehicle. Our stay was lovely, it was really cold and given that there is not much to do., having a working hot tub would have been great. The owners did let us know it wasn’t working. They may want to replace the hot tub for an outdoor dining set, but that is a minor issue. If you are looking for a quiet place to rest and recharge. This is it ! We would love to come back. !

Majestic mountain getaway
Our stay at the Black Bear Retreat was everything we were hoping for. The cabin was more than accommodating, the views were incredible, and we were blessed with beautiful weather. The road to the cabin and driveway were the only negative, and we completely understand given the weather this winter that washout is to be expected. We highly recommend this property!

This is the cabin with a great view!
This house has all we could ask for for a short getaway for our family. The cabin is well decorated and very clean(except stink bugs here and there), good amount of toys for our 5yo & 3yo. The view is phenomenal when the weather is good, we had 2 rainy days and it got very foggy. AWD vehicle is a must. The road condition to the Cabin is not so great. Overall, we had a great time.
