Welcome to the Sunrise Cottage! Stay here if you want a secluded retreat in nature, with easy access to hiking trails, gorgeous views, and charming towns. Listen to the sounds of the farm animals while you relax in the hot tub or on the enclosed porch. Beautifully decorated with a fire pit, and grill. Within 30 minutes from all the major attractions that the Shenandoah Valley offers such as Luray Caverns, Shenandoah National Park, Vineyards. Go paddling on the Shenandoah River this summer!

LOCATION:
This home is located in Fort Valley, Virginia. The closest towns are Edinburg, Woodstock, and Luray, which are filled with awesome places to eat like Woodstock Cafe and Woodstock Brewery. This property is located 30 minutes away from Shenandoah National Park and Luray Caverns. Make sure to visit all the close by local wineries, like Muse Winery and Cave Ridge Vineyard, and book a trip with Shenandoah Wine Tours!

The Sunrise Cottage is located in the quaint town of Fort Valley. The drive off of the cottage is absolutely lovely, however please note that you will lose service 5-10 mins away from the property. You can join the wifi when you arrive. Please note, that the only wifi available in Fort Valley is satellite, therefore it will be affected by any severe weather.

You will have access to the full space except the shed which we use for storage. I cannot wait for you to explore this wonderful part of the world!

While dogs are allowed at the property, the property is not fully enclosed therefore we do require them to be leashed. We also also ask that if a pet is left indoors by themselves, that they are kenneled in order to prevent any damage to the property while not under human supervision.

Please also note that due to this being in a rural location the internet is extremely spotty especially at night. This is more of a remote stay and a perfect way for you to get away from the busy city and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature :)

If you are coming during the winter, a 4WD is HIGHLY recommended. The road up to the house is stunning but also can feel windy for those who are not used to driving in the mountains, especially if conditions are icy.

We always recommend that all guests PURCHASE TRIP INSURANCE in the event of a cancellation.

Wonderful cottage !!
This cottage is so cute and it fit the four of us just right. Very comfortable beds, lots of pillows and nice living room furniture. There are great views of the mountains and big fields with cows on the other side of the fence. You felt like you were far away from the ruckus of everyday life. It was bright and cheery with beautiful wall paper and lots of windows. A hot tub and screened porch was also there to enjoy. We had a wonderful time and will go back again.

Fall Getaway
We were looking for a cozy, quiet place to stay in the Shenandoah valley for a fall getaway. We found it. We loved your home. The hot tub was my favorite. We did a bit of hiking and it really helped with the soreness. There was a full moon during our stay. The moon rise and sun rise were outstanding. The beds were the most comfortable I have had while renting a home. Olivia was very attentive. She would send us information on things to do. We would definitely rent this house again if we ever make it back to the area.

A total gem! My friend and I absolutely loved staying at Sunrise Cottage! Perfectly clean, absolutely beautiful. Lots of great information before we checked in, and we had everything we needed. So many rentals in the region feel a little scary and are unattractive. This was the complete opposite! It was like staying at a cool friend's place, and we spent a lot of time talking about when we plan to return. I am stoked to have found this wonderful property!

Relaxing Mountain Retreat
My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay. The decor was very much our vibe, but as beautiful as the inside was, we spent a ton of time in the screened-in porch and the hot tub. The views of the mountains are truly spectacular - the pictures in the listing do not do justice to just how pretty the location is. We went on some great hikes in some nearby parks. We also enjoyed taking a short stroll down to the goat farm next door. The Wi-Fi worked just fine - it might take a second for things to load, but we never had any issues getting our shows to stream.

Perfect Retreat
Everything was just as it should be when one is seeking a “retreat.” Cozy, cheerful, immaculate. The host has really paid attention to all the details. There wasn’t one thing we needed or wanted that was missing. Terrific beds, bedding and pillows. Great coffee. Well organized and equipped kitchen. Extremely clear communication. And the drive from one end of Fort Valley to the other is a memory we will always cherish!

hidden gem
What an unexpected surprise! Even driving to this property was amazing! Set back in the hills, yet close to everything that you could need for convenience! The home itself is bright, welcoming and cozy. Modern yet had a really cool country vibe. The short walk to the fire pit next to the babbling stream, the hot tub with Mountain views, the comfortable deck with a grill, screened in porch ! Seriously, everywhere we looked inside and out of the house was awesome! The beds were very comfortable and smelled hotel clean! The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and condiments etc. A short walk down a nostalgic dirt road takes you to a farm with goats milling about. So peaceful and quiet! There was some noise from the nearby road, but with the stream and the sounds of nature, it was not something we noticed. The host was extremely prompt in responding to any inquiry we had. Shenandoah national park, Luray caverns, many sweet little breweries and diners, historical points of interest - this is definitely a hidden gem if you are looking for a peaceful getaway. Highly recommend this property

The property was absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. The cottage is adorable and decorated well. The scenery from front and back yard are phenomenal. Very close to Woodstock, VA where we were totally charmed by Vineyard (Muse) Woodstock Cafe and a bakery named Flour and Water. Property Manager made this restful getaway easy with excellent communication. Very highly recommended and we’d definitely go back!

One of the Best Cabins in the Area
I stayed here with friends for a weekend getaway from DC. We've done this regularly for years, and this is one of the best cabins we've ever rented! Everything is beautiful and well-appointed, and the grill and hot tub are both very high quality. We had a fantastic weekend and will definitely be back!

This property was VERY clean, easy to find, especially with helpful info from Olivia. The screened porch was our favorite place to hang out. The home was decorated very nice. The beds a little too soft for me... Great instructions on the website. We didn't have a fire because we only had a couple days. Appears that area needs a little attention, but a great place to visit. Loved the adorable goats out back too.
