I stayed at the property before about two years ago. Back then the service and facilities were immaculate. I went to check in at 1:30pm and the lady at the front desk was serving someone else. I waited and she looked at me and asked me to take a seat until she was finished.
She continued on to laugh with the other guest for the next 15 minutes. I walked back up asking if I could leave my bag so I could get some food (had been travelling for 2 hours to get to the property and didn’t want to wait for ages for her to finish).
She told me that she wouldn’t be long and to take a seat again. Honestly i was checked in after 30 minutes. Once I was checked in, she forgot to give me my room key. I had to come back downstairs to get my room key.
I went upstairs and there was hair in one of the rubbish bins. On the second day of my stay, I went downstairs and asked for a towel for the pool. The lady at the desk said they haven’t been delivered yet and to use the one from my room - for perspective, it was 1pm in the afternoon. I asked for a toothbrush kit as I forgot toothpaste and was told to get it from the front desk.
I went to the pool on my last day and the jacuzzi was tepid and not warm at all.
I think that customer service is so important especially if you want customers to return. Definitely was lacking customer service and basics of my stay. Unfortunately not sure I will be returning on my next stay on GC or would I recommend it.
