Interesting stay
Nice house in a quiet neighbourhood. China and towels were a bit tired, but every gadget in good working condition. The beds are very comfortable, also the sunbeds. Eileen, the manager, is an extremly nice and capable person, she was absolutely brilliant, any problem cropping up like no water, immediate reaction and very prompt solution if it was at all within her power. From the main road to the complex you have to go on a fairly bad dirt track, with 2 people manageable in a small car, but something with a bit more space underneath would be advisable for more people. The building sites in the immediate vicinity caused some disturbances, mainly noise from the work going on and trucks and heavy machinery like JBCs rumbling by even on weekends, and dust was everywhere, had to sweep at least daily. The worst thing by far were the fires, partly burning sugarcane, partly to clear land for building, partly burning refuse from the building site, noxious fumes and smoke as well as the ashes everywhere for hours, not for the fainthearted to be quite near, mostly went off exploring when we smelled the smoke. One thing we really missed was operating instructions for gadgets like washing machine, oven, TV, numbers for firebrigade, ambulance etc. All in all, a very interesting stay in a local environment (not touristy at all), which is exactly what we wanted to find out if ever longer stays over the winter in Europe would be the thing for us. And yes, we will be back.
