Welcome to Honey Bee Hideaway, where year-long views and mountain charm await you! Named after our passion for harvesting honey from our Georgia bee farm, our 3BR, 2BA home is a sweet retreat for families and pets.

Nestled just minutes away from Main Street's dining, shops, and art galleries in downtown Highlands, NC, and only 1 mile from the breathtaking Glen Falls. Explore nearby trails and waterfalls before returning to the comforts of Honey Bee Hideaway.

The town of Highlands offers diverse activities, from shopping and antiquing to hiking, fishing, and waterfall sightseeing.

**There are bears in the area. Never feed or approach any wildlife. Please keep your dogs on a leash while walking the neighborhood. Please make sure to keep your cars locked and windows closed. Bears can open car doors and they climb into cars if windows are left down. Bears roam the area looking for food. They generally run away if you make a loud noise. In order to reduce their presence, please remember to not leave food outside in your car. Please use the bear proof trashcan on the back porch.

UPDATED 8/2024 Potential for noise: A construction project has started up the street. Our neighbors are building. This project will not impact parking or access to the house but could result in noise 7 am – 5pm.

The Perfect Getaway
This was the perfect home to relax and make memories! We spent all of our mornings and evenings on the back porch in front of the fire - stunning!. Every detail was thought of - nothing was overlooked. The location is so close to town, but you feel like you're away from the hustle and bustle when you get back to Honeybee Hideaway. The owners put a lot of love and thought into this home, and you can really feel it while you're staying there. Trista was very responsive and accommodating to our requests. In all my years on VRBO, this was my best experience to date!

Honey Bee Retreat
Property was as described, very well kept with all the amenities! Grill was brand new, back deck as well. We barbequed steaks and chicken, really enjoyed the view. House had everything we needed, had a 1 year old, had a pack n play, high chair and stroller. Trista our host kepted us well informed with a welcome video and correspondence throughout our stay. 5 minutes to downtown, couldn't have been easier. Great get away in Highlands NC!

Very nice house and good location
House is mostly one level which is great for older folks. Deck, both covered and open to enjoy a lovely long range view. Close enough to town to run to the grocery store yet nestled in a safe neighborhood. Been to Highlands many times and this is one the nicest houses I have rented.

Clean property with Amazing views! Awesome Hostess was there every step of the way if we needed anything! We stayed there for a wedding event we were attending and it was perfect! Nice clean updated cabin with new back porch addition
The cabin was spotless and was decorated nicely with an original theme related to Honeybees. The area was in a peaceful neighborhood and the new back porch addition was a plus for the house. We spent lots of time sitting and looking at the great view. The owners put a lot of thought into making this cabin (inside and out) a peaceful retreat for us.

Outstanding Hospitality
Trista is an outstanding hostess. She seeks out feedback from her guests so that she can make the house more comfortable and inviting. There was a basket of snacks on the counter and a notebook on the coffee table with information about the house and things to do in Highlands. The best part of the house is its gorgeous deck and fireplace with a lovely view. I highly recommend a stay at the Honeybee Hideaway.

Great stay at Honey Bee Hideaway.
The house is beautiful and very convenient with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths on one floor. The newly renovated back deck is awesome and a great place to hang and enjoy the view. Trista was a very helpful and accommodating host. She was quick to answer our messages and was super gracious when we needed to reschedule our trip. Perfect getaway!
My husband and I took a last minute trip to Highlands, NC to see the fall colors. We were so lucky to find Honey Bee Hideaway. The location is perfect and so are the views from the back balcony porch. The road is hard-top and not difficult to drive. Trista is awesome! You can tell she really loves the area and is happy to share info. There are waterfalls and hikes nearby, and town is only a 5 min drive. We took the drive into Cashiers to explore some more and ate at The Cornucopia for lunch, which has a nice nostalgic feel. The road to Cashiers is winding but was very beautiful. We went to Silver Run Falls which was an easy trail walk to the falls. I would highly recommend staying at this home. Thank you Trista for sharing it!

Amazing property in Highlands!
We recently took one last long weekend summer trip to Highlands in search of hiking, waterfalls, and ice cream every night! We found it all and more! Honey Bee Hideaway was the perfect home base for our family. GREAT location to everything, so easy to find and check into. Trista is hands down the best communicator I've ever dealt with in a STR. She was willing to help plan anything and quick to give recommendations for everything! Beautiful view from the back deck. When we weren't chasing waterfalls, we played games and watched movies at the house. Great for kids! Already recommending to friends with kids if they ever visit Highlands! Great Peaceful Stay
We truly enjoyed our stay. We have three daughters 7 and under. They loved the home. Watching the sunset, breathing in the fresh mountain air, and then sitting in front of a fire inside was just the relaxation we needed. The location was PERFECT! A short easy drive to town. We started our stay with a walk to Glen Falls! Such a magical hike to begin our vacation. The kitchen was well appointed. The house was also clean and the beds were comfortable.

Great home. Excellent location. Room to spread out if you have 2 or more couples or kids. Expansive deck. Owners are super easy to work with, talk to, share information with. It would be nice to have check-out later than the posted 10am and check-in earlier than 4pm, by one hour respectively. However, the owners are super flexible and likely will work with you as long as other situations don't hinder a later check-out or earlier check-in.

We stayed during the Christmas Artic Freeze of 2022 and never had any water or heating issues. Trista checked in on us to ensure we had no issues. We enjoyed a trip on the Polar Express, but because of the wind chill factor we could not take the grandchildren on any short hiking trips. However, our Bee Friendly home had plenty of space and toys to entertain the children. This was a great family Christmas vacation.
