Nice View From Room, Bathroom needs Update
The kitchen is nice, the king size bed is nice to sleep on and the location being right next to the ocean makes for an incredible view plus easy access to go swimming. The bathroom is however in need of a major update. There’s no counter space in the bathroom whatsoever. No bathroom fan and the tub is a little old to say the least. Other than that it was good, just please update the bathroom.

Comfortable and convenient.
Very comfortable and a first-class kitchen. We loved sitting at the balcony watching activity in the lagoon. School was out and there were many families with kids in the water. We went snorkeling 3 times in the early morning and saw no signs of turtles. They appear to have relocated. However we saw many fish including angel fish, trigger fish and the legendary humahumanucanuca'apua.

Carl Smith Beach Park
We have been going to the CS Beach Park for years but staying in Hilo. We decided this trip to Hawaii we would stay at this condominium. The location was perfect, pool perfect and park perfect. The unit was as advertised but abut run down furniture wise and bed. I like a king bed but really only room for a queen bed. Nice cross breeze with the from door and look ani door open. A bit stuffy otherwise. The ceiling fans a great and the one floor fan. I think I would book a two bedroom or settle for a queen next visit as other options are available at this address. Still a nice place to vacation and well cleaned when we arrived.

The location is very nice. The room was clean and there were starter supplies. There was a full sized dishwasher which is why I picked this place and it works. These were most important things. I really liked that there was a table on the lanai so we could eat meals there. The kitchen was really not supplied with more than enough utensils to cook for 1 meal. Example 1 spatula, no serving spoons or slotted spoons. There are several meals worth of plates forks, spoons and knives, but just not enough cooking implements.

NO A/C!!!
First trip to Hawaii as a romantic vacation. A high rise condominium. Had no idea you had to ask if they had air conditioning. We were miserable, hot, humid and sticky. Difficult being romantic when you are dripping in sweat…or at least sticky. Got a condo so I could cook. I did once and was covered in sweat! Ugh!! They will probably charge us extra for all the towels we used from showering so much. Yes they had fans. But all that did was blow hot air . I literally cried our first night there! Secondly we were without water for our last 2 days there. Really? This was due to scheduled maintenance. Not an unforseeable emergency. So management knew before we came yet did not let us know until the night before that we could not use any water or flush from 8-4. Would NEVER stay there again!

Ocean front condo
Location, location, location. The condo was comfortable, accessible and safe. Having a beautiful beach park as your front yard is fantastic. To enjoy the mornings while it’s still fairly quiet is what really made the stay. This is my second time at Mauna Loa Shores and I would do it again.

This is a nice property, that has everything you need. The problem is it doesn’t have any character.
This was a wonderful trip, the apartment is adequate, it has the basic necessities. A part of me wanted to update it, and make it more like a home. The people who lived in the complex were amazing, the manager of the complex was a very nice man and the pool and location were amazing. The propert just needs a bit of love❤️

Perfect apartment
I came to Hilo for 10 weeks, eight of which I work from home. The apartment is perfect, the desk and chair were very comfortable and the Wi-Fi was very reliable. Being right next to Carlsmith Park was a great place to jump in the water and swim with the turtles. There were a couple evenings where gatherings are allowed after hours but the police responded very quickly. I will definitely stay again
