This property is one of five or six rental units on a private lot with its own gorgeous beach. The owner is militant about keeping non-renters off the beach, so we had plenty of space to ourselves. The house is not right on the water, as it sits at the back of the property, but the water is visible and the beach just a 2-minute walk away. We watched some amazing sunsets over the lake. The property is far enough from town that we didn't hear traffic or sirens, but close enough that we could get take-out from a local restaurant and it was still hot when we got back to the house.
The house itself is tiny; although the description says it sleeps four, anything more than two would be cramped. The house is also very full of knick-knacks, which do get in the way; as one other reviewer mentioned, there isn't much room left over for the guest to put their own things. The kitchen was small but fairly well stocked. The shower is also tiny. We didn't have hot water the first morning we were there, but the owner was prompt about addressing the problem. The bed is comfortable, and everything was clean.
The house does not have much ventilation. The front door does not have a screen door, so we could not leave it open (flies and mosquitoes). There are two floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room, but they do not open. The only operable window is in the bedroom, which also has an exterior door with a screen door. The living room got stuffy while we were cooking, and could be uncomfortably warm on a hot day. The lighting is also an issue; the living room lights are dim, and there is only one movable lamp. The bedroom does not currently have bedside lamps; one was missing and the other, while present, didn't work. The owner could also improve the description of amenities on VRBO; we couldn't tell from the description whether there was a grill so we brought our own, but found out that there is a nice gas grill on site.
Overall, we liked the place and would stay again.
