Margarita Cottage ~ Popular island retreat

Margarita Cottage is a studio cottage with a queen bed, kitchen, and private bath. The studio accommodates 2 people and the kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker.

The quaint front porch is perfect for morning coffee or evening cocktail and provides people watching at its best. A lovely back deck has a dining table and chairs and there is a shared heated pool and deck.

Located in the Heart of Old Town, you're within walking distance of world-class shops, restaurants, bars, and entertainment. There is no assigned parking (street parking is available), so we encourage you to leave your vehicle at home and enjoy the island by foot or bicycle.

For what it cost I was expecting a better equipped kitchen. They must have gone to the clearance section of Walmart. The bathroom needs a remodel. Broken gate on one side showing dilapidated building Nextdoor. The only saving grace was the heated pool.

get away
great location! and perfect for me and my partner. we stayed for 4 nights, 3 days and from check in to check out the spot was exactly what we needed. a little walk to downtown duval, and we loved that. the little pool in the back was perfect for afternoon dips before going back out again. we walked from one end of duval to the other end and then back home. definitely would recommend and will certainly be staying here again! checkin and out was super easy and if we had any issues someone answered straight away!

The room was small but perfect for us! The backyard and pool are amazing! Just a short walk to Duval! The only thing I would change/add is some hooks on the back of doors to hang our towels!

Not quite as advertised
The cottage was cute but it was advertised as a “one bedroom” and was really just a studio. There was no door between the kitchenette and the bed. The patio and the pool were nice and the front porch was a nice bit of extra space. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and I was very bothered by the mold on the bottom of the shower curtain but the area was safe and it was just a short walk to shops and restaurants. The only air conditioner was in the kitchenette area and it could not be set to less than 73’ per the rules so the bedroom got warm. There is a ceiling fan which helps to cool the area down but for people who don’t like to sleep with a fan on at a high speed this could be an issue.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Margarita cottage! Central location, easy to get all over the island, and love all of the tropical plants around the pool. Unfortunately while we were there the heater in the pool was not working and was fixed for our last day.

Awesome stay
Overall we enjoyed ourselves ,the house was great, the mattress was horrible, they need to invest in a good one (like the wink plus or purle mattress or avocado) for the price you expect comfort. But otherwise awesome place. Great location and cute house.

A little R&R
Enjoyable, relaxing stay in Key West. Margarita cottage was perfect for what we had in mind. We spent our days exploring the island, then a few hours relaxing by the pool in the afternoon and off again for the evening. The back patio and pool area are a beautiful tucked away oasis! The location suited us well. We walked or biked to everything. I would absolutely recommend this property.

Great Location
Very easy to get around the island walking, but I would rent a bike, it is a game changer. El Siboney and Cafelito’s are both great places for lunch/ dinner, and breakfast and coffee. Both of these places are very close to the VRBO. The back yard was very nice, and the pool was great. Excellent time in Key West, and thankful this host made it possible.

Cute little cottage
Great stay, convenient to have a kitchen. Close to Duvall and other activities. We loved the outdoor patio…very secluded with all of the lush, beautiful foliage. Would only recommend upgrading some of the kitchen basics and adding a cushion on the bed. Other than that, we had a great time.

Quiet location, walking distance to most everything...
The office staff was very helpful, saving us half the cost for transportation by recommending using taxis instead of Uber. The cottage was clean and just as described. Even though we stayed during a December rainstorm, the pool was clean and warm enough to swim in. The cottage is centrally located and we were able to walk to anything we wanted to see in less than 20 minutes, and Duval was only a few blocks away. Most people will just eat out as there are tons of good places, but for those like us who need to cook, there was only 1 large and 1 small teflon sauce pot and a cookie sheet. There is an assortment of utensils, but prep knives were limited and only 2 sets fork/spoon/knife. We added a medium sauce pan to the collection and the Publix has anything you might need to cook with if needed. We would come back if we return to Key West.

Cute cottage close to Duval in old town. Very convenient. Used the pool, quiet and comfortable. Very happy with our stay. Recommend the Cuban coffee down Catherine street and lunch from Cuban restaurant across the street.

Peaceful Cottage
