The Farm Shed is a quaint, rustic, and newly renovated guest accommodation on our working, 130-acre, family farm. Once used for machinery storage, a farm mechanics workshop, housing pigs, a farm store, and a farm office, now a retreat for guests to enjoy a quiet farm stay. Please know that we live and work on the farm.

Located 10 minutes south of Elora-Fergus, 5 minutes north of Guelph, and 20 minutes east of Cambridge, Kitchener-Waterloo, and St Jacobs. Cox Creek Winery is just up the road. Several bike/hike trails nearby. Three golf courses 5 minutes away.

Our 'slice of country paradise' we like to share with others looking for some peace & quiet away from the hustle & bustle of a busy life.

On the 130-acre family farm wheat, corn, and soybeans are the crops grown. There are a few chickens that lay fresh eggs, daily. Theo, the farm kitty, roams free. He loves it when guests show him some love, with a head scratch!

We ensure a very clean and comfortable stay. The main floor is accessible, with a loft-style, comfy queen bed area, sitting area, and full kitchen.

The downstairs accommodates a second bedroom, with an antique double bed, laundry, full washroom, and lounge area.

This is also the access to the private guest backyard equipped with a picnic table, fire pit, chairs, firewood for campfires under the stars, and skewers for roasting your marshmallows.

The Farm Shed has central air-conditioning and a natural gas fireplace for heating, supplemented by an electric heater wall unit that makes it comfortable all year round.

This space is a separate building from the main farmhouse & is exclusively yours to enjoy during your stay. Please know that the farm property including the area of The Farm Shed is monitored by security cameras 24/7.

There is no bus route to our farm. Uber and local taxis provide service in the area. We have parking for 2-vehicles to the left of the large grey barn. ON-SITE ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING IS AVAILABLE (INCLUDES ADAPTOR FOR MOST EV'S INCLUDING TESLA VEHICLES) AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO BOOKING GUESTS.
Outlined are guidelines to ensure your stay is as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. These details are thought out to ensure the best possible match for you, as our guest, and us, as your host. Note that the property owner is on-site and for security & safety the property has video monitoring. Also, the booking guest must be staying and their ID must match the credit card used for reservation payment.

1. Must be 21 years of age or older to book a stay.

2. ****PLEASE NOTE: Children MUST have supervision outside the premises, at all times, as this is a working farm, and large vehicles can come unexpectedly.****

3. NO additional guests. All guests, including children, MUST be registered in your reservation. ONLY THE NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS LISTED IN YOUR RESERVATION IS PERMITTED TO STAY. Please message me if you have a special request for my consideration and PRE-APPROVAL.

If you bring unregistered people you will be immediately denied continued occupancy of the premises with NO refund given.

4. Booking this accommodation is ONLY for the duration of the agreed-upon stay. Guests MUST depart by 11 AM on the last day of their booking. Late checkout must be requested and approved by Trish in advance of your arrival. We will do our best to meet a late checkout request.

If you do not check out by the agreed checkout time you will be charged one (1) additional full-day rate, over and above your initial booking. Lock access codes will be changed after checkout.

5. Your personal access code is the last 4-digits of your phone number listed on your booking. It will be active from your check-in time until your check-out time.
Early check-in must be requested and approved by Trish in advance of your arrival. We will do our best to meet an early check-in request.

6. No Parties on the property or loud music, Quiet time after 11 PM - 7 AM.

7. No illegal substances on the property. Guest agrees that if anyone is found using illegal drugs or allowing others to use illegal drugs on the premises, you will be immediately denied continued occupancy of these premises with NO refund given. Police will be called.

8. While smoking or vaping is NOT ALLOWED INSIDE The Farm Shed, at any time. You may freely smoke/vape outside. Please dispose of all butts in the cigarette 'ashtray' mounted on the wall outside the backdoor to The Farm Shed's backyard. During winter months (Dec-April) an additional 'butt bucket' will be placed on the landing of the front entrance.

9. If you wish to have a campfire in the fire pit, please ensure it is ‘out’ when done. We have provided a campfire starter & wood for you to use. It is stored in the outdoor ‘cubby’, on the laneway side of the shed downstairs backdoor. There are also outdoor chairs & 1 lounger stored there.

10. No burning of candles, incense or similar products inside The Farm Shed, at any time.

11. If you leave the property to go out please make sure the windows are closed and the doors are locked.

12. If you open it, close it, and put it back in its original place.

13. Any major damages or missing items will be charged to the booking individual.

14. Bees: We have 30+ active honeybee hives along our back laneway. Please stay clear of that area to avoid being stung.

15. Barn & Property: Our farm is a working farm. For liability and your safety DO NOT enter the main barn area or fields. Please respect our personal space & privacy by NOT wandering around the main house & backyard. We are currently clearing trees in our forest and upgrading the back laneway, please stay clear of these areas.

16. Tap Water: Tap water is tested regularly through Public Health and is safe to drink.

17. Room Temperature: We set the wall-mounted heat/AC unit to a comfortable temperature, on either Heat OR Cool mode depending on the season. If you require additional heat or air conditioning use the remote (located on the beam next to stairs) to adjust the temperature of the wall/ceiling heat/AC unit. Point the remote directly at the wall unit, and press the up/down arrows firmly, You should hear a beep and see the temperature # on the wall unit adjust. If not, try again. To change between Heat & Cool modes, press the MODE button until Heat OR Cool displays on the left-hand side of the remote screen.

The gas fireplace is turned off from April to November. From December to March the natural gas fireplace is set by a room thermostat, to a comfortable temperature. Please DO NOT adjust the thermostat or fireplace switches. It is normal for the gas fireplace to give a little ‘BANG’ when the flames turn on. Don’t be alarmed.

18 For total privacy, on the main level of The Farm Shed, please feel free to pull one or both sliding shed doors closed.

19. At the end of your stay:
. load & start the dishwasher with dirty items and start.

. place all garbage/recycling in the designated bins. We will handle the clean-up ourselves as we disinfect the property for the next guests.

. ensure all doors to the outside are locked, and lights & stove/oven are turned off when leaving.

. feel free to strip bed linens and place them next to the washing machine downstairs. But please don't feel obligated to do this. If you stay in a bed please leave it messy so we know which beds need to be cleaned.

. put used towels/house coats in the laundry baskets provided.

20. If something breaks, like glass or plate, first make sure everyone is OK, and then safely dispose of the item and message us what broke so we can replace it. Accidents happen so don’t worry about minor incidents.

21. Breaking accommodation rules you will be asked to leave immediately with NO refund given.

Wonderful accommodation and location
One of the best places we have ever stayed. From our first contact until our departure, Trish was friendly, helpful and prompt. The Farm Shed was all we could have hoped for, with everything practical we might need, beautiful touches, so comfortable. We had a couple of minor issues that came up, and Trish was immediately responsive and got them sorted. The location itself (the farm and rural location) was peaceful, lovely and yet still close to Guelph and all the amenities there. Also easy to get to other locations in Ontario we were visiting on day trips. Loved the nearby bird feeders and the interesting birds they attracted. Bonus: Theo the cat, who came by regularly and politely left on his own after a friendly visit. We were visiting from BC and have family and friends in the Guelph area -- we will definitely book here if we come to the area again.

We really loved staying at The Farm Shed! We stayed for two nights and I loved how well stocked and equipped the kitchen was to make a great meal. Trish has thought of everything to make a great stay! It's bigger than it looks in the pictures and has a very cozy vibe inside. The main house is close to the shed, but you are able to close over the barn doors for complete privacy. This is a great home base for exploring the towns in the area. It was easy to get ubers into Elora, and it was so nice to come 'home' to such a tranquil farm house.
