Serene getaway with lakefront, direct & easy access to the water. Beautiful private waterfront access on Lake James!

Enjoy the peacefulness of a lakeside retreat with the luxuries of a resort. This single-story home is perfect for families and friends to get together. Under the shade of sturdy trees, you can comfortably enjoy the wonders of Lake James's wildlife and scenery in every season.

Enjoy meals using our outdoor BBQ gas grill! The outdoor dining area features a picnic table and is lit with string lights for al fresco meals any time of day. You can stargaze over a crackling fire around our cozy fire pit (with an option to include our Fire Pit kit &/or S'mores & Cocoa kit!)

All our bedrooms have spacious closet space with enough room for all your luggage. Every room also has a lake view, so you'll always have the best seat in the house. With 6 beds and enough space for up to 12 individuals, you can truly fit everyone in one place! Extra linens and beach towels are available in the unit.

The home also has a fully equipped kitchen featuring a large island with ample seating and an even larger dining table. Enjoy cooking with our GreenPan eco-friendly cookware and complete set of utensils. Don't forget about our wine fridge and coffee corner!

Washer & dryer are included and in the home for your convenience.

Great spot for relaxing getaway
Enjoyed our stay. The living area is great to spend time with family, and you can’t beat being right on the lake. Loved being able to bring our dog. Main complaint would be that house could have been cleaner (inside and out) but other than that we had no issues.

Amazing Lake Property
Lakeside Sanctuary is a wonderful lake property. We've been using VRBO for years and frankly this is one of the nicest homes we've stayed in. Communication was wonderful. home was exactly as described and very well equipped - everything we could need and more. The area of the lake is VERY quiet. We enjoyed that the calm and quiet. Having lots of chairs and floats were great too. My only suggestion is to remove the picnic table from the deck and replace with a couple of lounge type chairs. It would be lovely to relax with a coffee or cocktail in such chairs. As others have mentioned, the lake is very silty. We were happy that we brought our water shoes. To us this wasn't a deal breaker but be aware.

The property and the view of the lake were exceptional! It’s such a relaxing place. Very spacious and lots of room to hang out and not feel like you were on top of each other. Took the chairs to the shore line and watch the ripple of waves come to shore and check out the wild life

Everything was as pictured. Very clean. I gave the location and neighborhood a 3 star only because the road is very busy for those who like to exercise or walk the dog and the lake at this location is not clear water. The kids were covered in muddy water after swimming, so make sure you wear swim shoes and of course shower afterwards.

A friend and I wanted a relaxing vacation with great views and this sanctuary certainly delivered! Great area, quiet, near shopping if you forgot something, and within short drives to some beautiful hikes! Would absolutely recommend to anyone!

Memorial Weekend with family
House was very nice, clean, spacious, and well stocked with everything from kitchen items, to towels, to bonfire supplies for our family of 5. Owners were proactive and responsive in the communication. View and access to the lake is great, with the shoreline mostly shaded in the afternoon and pretty quiet all the way around. We would definitely stay here again with the same group!

House was exactly as described on internet. The beds were very comfortable. The view of the water was so nice. Kitchen well stocked, and ice maker in fridge was a plus. Did not use kayaks weather was not the best for outdoors. The host was quick to all our needs. Our 93 year old mom loved it.Thank you to the Baker's .

Great spot!
Some friends and I spent the weekend hiking, biking, kayaking in the Lake James/Linville Gorge area and the house was a perfect jumping off point for us. The inside of the house was really nice - it was clean, had enough space, and set a nice vibe for the weekend. The sunrise over the lake in the mornings was absolutely gorgeous. Maria was awesome leading up to our stay and made sure all our needs were met. We ordered dinner from a delivery service one night, and were pleasantly surprised that DoorDash/etc delivered to the house. All in all a great spot!

Great getaway
I loved the layout of the home. Very spacious, split-bedroom floor plan. Perfect getaway for a quick trip for my parents, my daughter, my dog, and myself. We loved the backyard and the views it offered. I don't think the kayaks would have worked since they drain the lake a bit in the fall and winter, so I'm glad I didn't rent them. The property managers were amazing and always communicated promptly.

Family getaway
Beautiful house and location. Would have given 5 stars all around but road traffic was really busy, we could hear it early in the morning and just a couple of things should be fixed or replaced. House was very spacious, plenty of room to just hangout and catch-up with extended family. Lake was down at least 5 feet so fishing was poor on that end of the lake except for catfish. But overall wonderful spot to do nothing and rest.

Our family loved the Lakeside Sanctuary! Amenities were wonderful for all and house was well appointed and very clean. Kayaks, fire pit, s'mores made for a great visit. Close to Lake James State Park which made for a fun activity. Host was very communicative. Definitely recommend.

Wow!! What a great place.
One of the best getaways ever! This house is everything promised, charming, sunny, comfortable and meticulously clean. I've had many vacation rentals and this house was among the best properties I've ever seen. It was absolutely amazing. The house is open, airy and had beautiful views from most of the windows and a beautifully sized deck overlooking the lake. Plenty of seating to eat comfortably outside while cooking out on the deck. The most amazing thing was the kitchen!! It was equipped with EVERYTHING you could ever want or need. This kitchen is a cook's dream, fantastic appliances, top of the line utensils, pots and pans, more than enough to satisfy any cook! It was heaven!! Beds were comfortable, linens and towels fresh and plentiful. There is cable and internet. The owner Maria was top-shelf and great to work with. She sent me all the info I needed well in advance and gave me info on local grocery stores, restaurants, etc... We were there only for a few days and she went above and beyond to add special touches to make it welcoming for us. From the moment we walked in (complimentary S’mores kit for the kids) we wanted for nothing, their attention to every detail is amazing. All amenities, furniture, the patio, kayaking equipment, privacy...everything! So well thought out and accommodating! Absolutely fabulous! I would highly recommend this property. Thank you for making our stay in unforgettable!

Serene lakefront property
Perfect size for our family including 2 under 2! Master bedroom closet was perfect for the toddler, and generally great that the "kids" were on the other end of the house. Other two bedrooms fairly tight with 2 double beds each, but beds were comfortable. Host provided everything we needed for the most part. Enjoyed eating on the deck and wandering down to the water - used our kayaks and SUP. This end of the lake is very quiet due to speed limit buoys, and it is shallower so had to paddle out to swim. Felt very private and serene, although right off the main road - road noise was not very discernable from the yard and lake. Maria was super responsive to questions and helpful with small issues. Would stay again!
