Welcome to Uptown New Orleans, where dreams lend themselves to reality in this picturesque pocket of the city. Centrally located to an abundance of day and night life, you and your guests will waste no time wondering what to do first!

This comfortable and inviting studio bedroom boasts a well-stocked kitchenette, flat screen TV, fully fenced back yard, and a light-filled space that is perfect for relaxing after your daytime outings.

Our open layout is the perfect setting for a couple or single traveler looking to take in the ultimate New Orleans experience. The cozy kitchen / dining area is stocked with a mini fridge, microwave, countertop oven, and induction burner, and the studio bedroom has a queen bed and Smart TV, with a full bathroom and shower.

This studio guest unit can sleep up to 2 guests comfortably. The bedroom features plush linens and bedding, as well as cloud like mattresses. It's important to note that guests share the foyer entrance with the host, but the studio space is all yours, with private locked door. The bedroom configuration is as follows:

From beautiful sights, taste bud tingling foods, and vibrant live music, who wouldn’t want to visit?! We recommend using public transportation, including streetcars, buses, Uber or Lyft during your stay. For another fun way to explore the area, try Blue Bikes, a ride sharing bike rental all around the city.

Upon acceptance of your reservation, you will receive a welcome letter containing all of the information you need to access the home and ensure your stay is a memorable one! If you have any additional questions, we are available at any time to assist.

Front door has a keyless lock to the shared entrance foyer. Once inside the foyer you will have a keyed entrance to your private studio space with private bathroom. We have a nice patio out back that doesn't adjoin your space but can be accessed through a gate behind the driveway. You are welcome to use the covered patio when it's not too hot - it's a great place to hang out after or in-between outings.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD
This is a great residential neighborhood in Uptown New Orleans.

4 blocks from Starbucks and the Freret Street district *
8 blocks from St Charles Avenue streetcar line
1 mile from Audubon Park
2.6 miles from Superdome/ Smoothie King Center
3.9 miles from Convention Center
4.4 miles from Jackson Square (heart of French Quarter)
11.3 miles from Armstrong Airport

*Freret Street between Napolean and Jefferson Avenues is our neighborhood go-to for local restaurants, casual eateries, cocktails, and delicious things (gelato! bagels!) Be sure to check it out if you are unfamiliar with this area or haven't been to New Orleans in awhile.

Getting Around
New Orleans is a small city, so getting around is not that difficult. If you bring a car there is plenty of street parking in our neighborhood and you can get around easily on the main thoroughfares of Claiborne Ave., St. Charles, Magazine St. and Tchoupitoulas, which all parallel the river, from downtown to uptown. For public transportation, St. Charles streetcar is about 8 blocks from our house. It costs $1.25 one way and you can have unlimited access to all public transportation for a $3.00 day pass. Freret Street and South Claiborne Ave buses are each a few blocks away but be aware that sadly, the buses don’t run often enough to make them efficient means of transport. Taxi and ride shares are good options for getting around if you don’t bring a car. If you are interested in bike riding, let us know and we can point you in the direction of a bicycle shop that rents bikes, including helmets and locks.

We have a friendly lab mix dog but she won't have access to your space during your stay.

**There is a $200 security/damage deposit collected 3 days prior to arrival, and returned shortly after your stay. This is done as a $200 hold on your method of payment, not a full charge. Please see the rental agreement (required to be read and signed before booking) for more details. ***
1. The booking guest must have their ID uploaded to their airbnb profile.

2. Please be mindful of noise - we live here! We recommend being quiet after 8:30pm (weekdays including Sundays) and 9:00pm (weekends).

3. While early check-in / late checkout may be available, this must be arranged ahead of time for an extra fee. Unauthorized Late checkouts are a $50 charge for each hour after 11am - a 15 minute grace period is given.

4. Clean towels are a provided amenity. Each guest listed through your reservation will receive 1 bath towel and 1 face towel. We are unable to fulfill requests for additional towels during the duration of your stay. Plan ahead while packing, please bring extra towels if you or any of your guests anticipate needing more.

5. Smoking & vaping in the unit will result in a $500 deodorization fee. Please smoke outside of the property.

6. Unregistered guests and parties are prohibited by local laws and ILLEGAL. Our occupancy limits are set by local ordinance. Any guest found to have had a party or over-occupancy will be charged a $1,000 fee for non-compliance with local laws. Exterior cameras present at the property to verify these laws/house rules are not broken. As of May 2022, Airbnb has specifically banned parties from their units. Violation of this rule will result in a ban from Airbnb.

7. Please do not hang or attach anything to the walls with push pins, tape, etc. or other painted surfaces.

8. Please do not use face towels to remove makeup, it damages the towels.

9. If the space is left excessively dirty $50 will be charged for each additional hour of cleaning required. Removal of bodily fluids will result in a charge of $150. Glitter cleanup will result in a charge of $100.

10. Unauthorized pets will result in an additional $250 deep cleaning cleaning fee and immediate request to leave. Pet Boarding recommendations available upon request. Both the owner and staff have pet allergies. If traveling with pets please inquire about our pet friendly units.

11. After you’ve read these rules, please send me a message with the words “yellow kangaroo” it will let me know that you have read the rules thoroughly.

12. Unfortunately, we cannot accept bookings from “Locals” at this time. Locals is meant to include anyone residing within 60 miles of New Orleans.

13. While we cannot receive any mail or packages to the space we will assist with getting packages shipped to New Orleans if needed.

14. Commercial video and photo shoots are strictly forbidden without prior and authorized consent. Associated day-rate fees, liability waivers and copyright contracts will apply if consent is given.

15. Message us for long term stays.

16. Trash is picked up on Fridays, recycling on Thursdays.

17. All of our TV's are streaming, we do not provide any account information, you will have to log into your own. Please remember to log out at check out. We do not have cable TV.

18. Should you wish to receive an early check-in or late check-out, please let us know the day before and we will determine if it's possible. We require time to prepare the unit for your stay or after your stay for the next guest and sometimes we are unable to accommodate. If we can accommodate, we will charge $25/hour for the additional booking time. This will also be in place for dropping luggage off or leaving your luggage after checkout time has passed. Payment will be requested through Airbnb after your additional time has been approved.

19. When bathing please be careful to keep shower curtain inside the shower to protect our bamboo floors.

10. Lost Items: We return lost items for a $75 flat fee.  This is to cover shipping costs, along with the time spent to retrieve & mail your item. If you leave anything at the unit, please let us know immediately.

The unit was clean and roomy for one person. It is near a city bus stop ~3 blocks to Freret and ~3 block to S. Claiborne. If you have a vehicle, parking may be a challenge. For a short stay this unit is great. For a longer stay - needing to wash clothes is an issue as there is no washer/dryer. Overall I was very pleased with the unit and the personell I dealt with - very accommodating.
