Cozy in West Philly
The house has a lot of great potential. Love the deck out back. I think some artwork on the walls would be a lovely addition to the decor. There was no place to hang out towels in the bathroom so that would also be a welcome addition. The kitchen was immaculate.

Well below expectations!
The expectation quickly went downhill upon arrival. The only seating for the living room was a very dirty, stained, quite uncomfortable sectional. Blankets were used to try and cover the most severe stained areas. The floors downstairs and upstairs appeared clean but they were in fact filthy. The evidence was very clear on our feet and socks! There is no convenient place to place wet towels . Nor are there any bath mats for use after taking a shower. The half bath downstairs was not ready for use, there was no hand towel or soap. There is no way this property is ready for a party of 6. The kitchen had a total of 2 forks. The dish washer is ‘out of order’ so it is imperative that there are dish towels and dish cloth for washing dishes by hand. Middle bedroom mattress is very poor, everything slides to the center into a sunken hole.

Renovation in Progress
I booked without researching the area/location and it was a mistake. My husband and I hosted our grandchildren for the 4th of July holiday; wanting to visit some historic locations in Philadelphia. The home looked to be in the middle of renovations. The downstairs bathroom electrical outlet was exposed. There was so much dust accumulated on the ceiling fan that I did not turn them on for fear of what would fall off of them. The floors were dusty. The dishwasher had an "out of order" note on it taped to the front. There was no soap in two of the bathrooms (neither hand soap nor bar soap) and the soap that was in the master bathroom smelled eerily of the dishwashing soap downstairs to wash the dishes.. It is not ADA compliant at all. The front stairs are concrete and quite steep. The inside stairs to all of the bedrooms are incredibly steep as well. My had my 5 year old grandson sit to navigate the stairs safely. I am a fit late 50's gal (work out 5x's a week) and i went down the stairs sideways. There bedding was gross. In the master bedroom, there were spots on the sheets, so I purchased two blankets and slept on top of our blankets. I also purchased our own pillows to sleep comfortably. There was a kitchen, but the sink did not have a working disposal & there was a terrible smell from the drain. The living room sofa was stained and quite simply gross. This was just not ready to be rented for any price.

The place didn’t look like the pictures in the listing, the A/C didn’t work, the place was dirty (even had a used cleaning rag on the banister) and the area seemed VERY unsafe. Communication with the host was a joke. She thought celling fans would be adequate to cool us off with the A/C not working during a heat wave. We were supposed to be okay with the promise of a repairman arriving day 2 of our stay even though there was no guarantee that the air would be fixed. VRBO was no help at all. Couldnt get a refund even though the place wasn't safe, clean or as advertised with air conditioning.

Davis Family Gathering
From booking to actually seeing the place in person, i was thoroughly impressed and pleased. The hosts kept the lines of communication open to answer any questions and provide guidance. The place was amazing. It was more enjoyable and more spacious than staying in a hotel. The whole family, 7 of us, all enjoyed the accommodations. Next time I'm in the Philly area, I know where I'm staying.

This looks to be a newly renovated property in a transitional neighborhood. It was clean and comfortable but could use a some updates to make a stay more pleasant: rods in the closets, towel racks in bathrooms, hand towels or paper towels in half bath. Street parking was generally available.
