Shore Cottage Isle of Skye

It is an honour to have this property on our books.

Shore Cottage is situated across from Portree on the southern edge of the Bay. Sitting in the kitchen, lounge and Master Bedroom, you can see the Old Man of Storr across Portree Bay. A 3 bedroom property, 1 king size in the master en suite and the remaining 2 bedrooms with double bed, 1 of which is en-suite.

The master bedroom has a balcony over the high tide line with a view of Portree. The U shaped property, has a kitchen overlooking the bay, leading to a the dining room with high ceiling and mezzanine floor with seating area, a great place for children to entertain themselves, and up the stairs from the dining room. In the other end of the house there is a sitting room with amazing views over the bay, as can be seen from the images. The master bedroom's views will blow your mind.

Ideal for groups, groups of couples and families to come and explore the Isle of Skye from.

Séjour inoubliable
Nous avons tous adoré notre séjour dans cette maison tout confort offrant de la plupart de ses pièces (cuisine, chambre, salon) des vues fantastiques sur le loch et la campagne. La maison est spacieuse et particulièrement bien équipée tout en étant très bien placée pour l'exploration de Skye. Nous avons aussi apprécié le silence environnant et les attentions à l'arrivée. Nous avons été charmés. Merci aux propriétaires!

Great stay at Shore Cottage
We had a great time on Skye, staying at Shore Cottage. It was just what we needed as a group of 3 couples travelling by van. We were able to spread out and relax. the views across the water to Portree and the Old man of Storr, first thing in the morning was fantastic. Well appointed with everything you need, great cooking facilitys and washing machine etc, to catchup with the laundry. A great place for a relaxing stay.

Ah! The View…
I must say how amazed we were with the view of the water and the changing tide. The accommodations were fantastic, almost every need was at our fingertips. Our host Cat, was so helpful. I highly recommended this cottage to anyone who wants over the top atmosphere.

The Ideal Setting
This was the perfect place to be when the weather is uncooperative! The views of the ocean, Portree harbor and Old Man of Storr are visible from the kitchen, living room, and upstairs bedroom and are such a delight! The kitchen was stocked with plenty of quality cookware and dishes. They even supplied detergent for the washer! The plentiful artwork was tasteful and well done. The owner thought of everything! He went above and beyond to provide a lovely home away from home!

Shore Cottage was all we had hoped it would be and more. A lovely home with plenty of room, nice amenities and spectacular views. This three nights was the highlight of our family trip to Scotland and we all really hated to leave.

Wished it was longer...
Only 2 miles from Portree, the Seaside cottage was exactly as advertised on VRBO. It was spotlessly clean, and lovely in every way--furnishings, artwork, views over the water, every need met in the kitchen. We (3 sets of adult travelers) only wished we had a stay longer than 2 nights! The sunset on the second night was spectacular and had us all outside taking photo after photo over the water. Do not be alarmed as the roads become more and more narrow as you approach the property. We were wondering for a few minutes, where were we going to end up but there are signs, a good gravel driveway and plenty space for turnaround and luggage removal. It's a very scenic and quiet location:) Our only problem was not receiving the email that was supposed to give us entry info. Trying "the chat" function on VRBO gave us phone numbers and Kells responded with the info we needed after some anxious hours on the day of arrival. We still never got the email after that call, so we did not know what to do with our trash or bed linens. We made our best guess:) We would definitely rent this property again--it is perfect for multiple couples and made us want to "stay home" to eat at the table in front of that beautiful view:) Thank you for all the detailed items you provided:)

A property that even a wealthy person would brag about. It has a beautiful view of the bay, with water fowl for the kids to watch. The telescope was used by our teenage granddaughters each day. The house was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen and baths were well appointed and supplied. The parking area is large, but we were able to park near the walkway for easy unloading. And all contacts and entry information was accurate and worked smoothly. A very excellent experience.

Wow!
This is hands down one of the best rentals we have stayed at. After being in closer confines with our teens, we arrived down the long and winding road (thanks to excellent directions) and were blown away. This house exceeded our expectations. Plenty of space to spread out and all the amenities you could need. The kitchen was lovely, the beds comfy and the views were gorgeous. This made our time on Skye.

Perfect place to relax near Portree
We couldn’t have found a more perfect home for our family when we vacationed in Skye. Even months later, we have the fondest memories of the gorgeous bay, the sheep on very nearby hills, the waves lapping up on the beautiful decks, the well-appointed kitchen and more. We long to return to this very special house, a perfect jumping off point for exploring all of Skye.

Beautiful Home
We loved staying at this cottage. Even when we returned from adventuring out, the joy of eing on Skye continued because of how beautiful the views from this house were. The rooms and showers were comfortable as well as the rest of the home. We cooked all of our meals here, and while some new/more pans are suggested, we found a way to get things cooked. The kitchen has plenty of storage and a great cooking range. We loved it. 10 out of 10 would recommend and stay here again.

One of our favorite places
This location in Skye was central and made exploring the island accessible. Being on the water had beautiful views and we would watch the tides come in and out. Our children loved playing and hunting for crabs in low tides. We had unusual sunny weather and spent most meals outside in the deck. The house layout and space was good for our family of 6 and we often cooked our meals in the kitchen.

Spectacular oceanfront home!
Stayed 3 nights at this incredibly lovely and beautifully restored waterfront home away from home and wished we had booked a full week. No question- this was definitely the way to enjoy Skye if you have a car! The house had had everything we could need and the owner was very responsive and gracious enough to come out on a Sunday to look into a glitch with the water heater. My only recommendation would be to post an instructional sheet for some of the appliances and switches and heating units. For us non-UK citizens -many of the controls were a bit confusing to figure out. It would also be helpful to note that any excess trash needs to be taken up the road to the bins as there are none on site. Other than that, our stay, was absolutely brilliant, and we would certainly love to return for a full week in the Future!

Beautiful location!
This house is GORGEOUS! The furniture and kitchen and fixtures were all beautifully put together. The view was outstanding with so many birds at the shore and even deer in the yard. It is a spacious home with many private spaces so if you need time away from friends and family, there are many places to choose from. The living room is a wonderful gathering place for times when you want to enjoy cocktails with one another near the wood burner. We had some cold, windy, and rainy days while we were there and the wood burner was a big plus. You won't be disappointed.
