CANCELLATION POLICY: Please read and understand the cancellation policy prior to booking. This policy is firm, and we will be upheld in the event of a cancellation. We recommend purchasing travel insurance if you have concerns that you may need to cancel your reservation for any reason.

PET POLICY: We are dog friendly. No other species of animals are allowed. This is non-negotiable.
We are pet friendly. However, we only accept up to two dogs for a $50.00 pet fee. Please include any dogs within your guest count prior to confirming your reservation. Unauthorized pets on the property will result in a $100 fee.

No smoking indoors. $250 fee will be charged to guest after departure if evidence of smoking cigarettes or marijuana indoors is detected.

Any and all acts by guest(s) and/or its invitees, that result in damages to the property or its contents, whether such act was intentional or the result of negligence will allow the host and or owner to deduct from the security deposit any and all cost incurred or to be incurred in returning the property or its contents to its original state and/or replace the item(s) as needed.

Marginal neighborhood and cleaning problems
The interior of the property was pretty much as advertised. There were problems with the cleaning crew (too few towels for guests, dirty floors, moldy/stained tub and shower grout, no paper towels and toilet paper in short supply). There was a set mouse trap in a kitchen base cabinet that our 11 month old found and tried to pick up. The dishwasher was not screwed in and continually fell out when we tried to load it. The yard was just dirt and the exterior of the house is very gritty as is the street on which it is located. On the positive side, the property manager was responsive. He gave me access to their locked cleaning closet so we could get towels and had paper products and coat hangers ( of which there were none) delivered promptly. The location was convenient to the highway, Monument Ave and Grove where there are nice restaurants. The neighborhood is just still very much in a transitional phase. I would onlybrecommend this property to a family with an infant who is not mobile or to one with kids over 4. The metal bar stools are very tipsy and dangerous for a little one and the feeling that the home was dirty when we arrived and not suitable for a crawler was hard to get over.

So, so property… nothing to write home about!
I would suggest requesting photos of the exterior (both front and back) prior to choosing the property. We foolishly did not do this and were very disappointed when we arrived. The exterior is not maintained. Had we seen the outside of the property, we would not have booked here. We arrived at night and considered leaving but were concerned about receiving a refund and finding a new place that was animal friendly. The house served its purpose for us while in the area and chose to spend a limited amount of time there. There were towels, linens, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, cleaning supplies and fabric softener. Thankfully we brought laundry detergent bc there was none provided. Prior to our arrival, the property manager sent us a message letting us know that the cleaning team noticed that the creamers that were supplied had expired…. When we arrived, the creamers were still in a jar on the counter (expired, curdled, smelly and moldy)…. We informed the owner and he sent new ones over and asked us to dispose of the old ones. We chose not to use the coffee pots or coffee that was provided based on our concern for cleanliness. The house is dog friendly which was a plus for us since we were traveling with our 2 small dogs. Upon arrival, you can immediately tell the house is dog friendly based on the smell. I would not rent again and feel that this property is overpriced and not justly represented on VRBO.

Perfect Family Thanksgiving Accommodations
James’s house was warm, inviting and clean - something you don’t often see in a dog friendly rental! The kitchen is well appointed and well stocked, and we had everything we needed for a lovely family get together that included baking, movie watching and playing with the dogs in a safe, enclosed yard. Thank you, James, for a delightful stay. We will be back!!

Me and 4 other colleagues stayed here for a residency at VCU and enjoyed our stay. There were kitchen and bathroom amenities that made us comfortable throughout the week. James was responsive and helpful each time we communicated. Enough space to cook and hang together. We enjoyed our home away from home.

The Bamboo House
While the picture was accurate the property did not live up to its promise. The location was a bit scary and the exterior of the home was in nasty shape: Broken up driveway, sewer access pipes sticking up through the front yard and a yard full of weeds. While the interior was nicely appointed, painted and clean, it was very dated and in need of a refresh. Kitchen was redone but not the bathrooms or the bedrooms. I would NOT stay here again.

Good property but five stars
We appreciated that the landlord allowed us to check in early. Like many ABNB properties, the inside is not quite as nice as the pictures. It’s barely four stars in my opinion. The outside is rough and so is the neighborhood, however that was relatively clear from the photos before we arrived. The appliances were new. Overall not a bad property but it needs work, particularly on the outside.

We pulled up to the house and a plumber was coming out of the property. This was a pretty inauspicious start to our journey! Turns out the home needed the entire sewer line replaced! James and his team worked overtime to get the repairs done quickly and without impacting our stay. 8 of us were staying in the home and were in town for a wedding. They scheduled portions of the repair around our schedule so we could all shower before the water to the home was cut off. This could have been a disaster push stay but James ENSURED that this wouldn’t happen. Amazing customer service and I would definitely book with him again.

Family came to town for birthday
Last minute my husband’s family wanted to get together for my husband’s birthday so we all stayed at this unit and had a good time. The kitchen was the best part for us to all gather but it didn’t have all the utilities required for cooking. Overall we had a good time.
