The Space
Featuring white-washed shiplap walls, louvered windows to take advantage of the ocean breezes, and Caribbean décor, this second story studio offers an open layout with king bed, en suite bathroom with hot water shower, kitchen, and furnished oceanview balcony. Modern comforts include air conditioning, Firestick TV, Echo Dot, and fiberoptic Wi-Fi. Additional amenities in the studio include plush bathrobes and programmable safe
The Property
Paradise Point is a private peninsula perched atop the ironshore, boasting 485' of waterfront and nearly an acre of native trees and gardens. The property is comprised of two guest villas and one studio, as well as a refreshing pool, and a palapa with hammocks overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Our property is perfect for those seeking a tranquil oceanfront getaway and a true Roatan experience. However, it may NOT be the best fit for everyone. If you are looking for a resort atmosphere or immediate proximity to nightlife, activities, and commercial centers, then Paradise Point will not be the ideal choice for you. We cater to guests who appreciate a more laid-back, self-sufficient travel experience, as well as the adventure of what it can truly feel like to live on our island. At Paradise Point, you'll experience Roatan as a traveler, not a tourist. You’ll have opportunities to dive into the local culture, explore the natural landscape, and even visit some of the island’s popular highlights… returning at the end of the day to a tranquil retreat surrounded by the beauty of the Caribbean Sea. Uncover the true essence of island living at Paradise Point and let your Roatan adventure unfold.
Guest Access
Relax in a hammock, take a dip in the pool, or experience the Caribbean Sea and Mesoamerican Reef with snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding. Your reservation at our Oceanview Studio grants you exclusive access to the studio, as well shared access to the grounds, pool and palapa at Paradise Point. From the moment you arrive until your departure, the amenities at our seaside retreat are yours to enjoy. Just steps away down the path adjacent to the property lies the shared community dock, where you’ll have access to some of the best snorkelling on the island. Be sure to pack your snorkel gear, as crystal-clear waters, tropical marine life, and vibrant coral reefs await your exploration. Use of kayaks and our paddle board is included; snorkel equipment is not provided.
Exclusions - Please note that access to the owner’s residence and area within their fence is restricted. These areas are designated for private use and are not included in the guest-accessible spaces.
Privacy - While you may see the owner, pool keeper, groundskeeper, and housekeeper on the premises, we believe in providing you with the utmost privacy during your stay.
Electricity & Water Conservation
Electricity on the island is private, which results in higher costs. Additionally, water is a valuable commodity. We kindly ask for your cooperation in conserving these resources during your stay. The studio is designed with wooden louvered windows to take advantage of the easterly trade winds which flow across the Point during most of the year, so when the weather is suitable, many of our guests enjoy opening the louvered windows and allowing the ocean breezes to naturally cool the space versus using air conditioning. Remember to turn off the air conditioner when you leave the studio, and do not run the AC if you have the door or windows open, to ensure efficient usage. PLEASE NOTE: if the air conditioner remains on continuously throughout your stay, or if you run the AC with the windows or door open, there may be additional charges applied.
The Oceanfront Adventure
Paradise Point offers a full oceanfront experience, and everything that comes along with it. You can expect incredible sunrises over the Caribbean Sea, salty air, easterly trade winds, and fantastic snorkelling just steps away. But while these are the norm during most of the year, you should be equally prepared for variability in the weather, and what that brings. Nature’s display over the Caribbean is stunning in all its forms, and Paradise Point provides a front row seat.
Power & Internet Outages
Due to the island's infrastructure, power or internet outages may occur unexpectedly. These do not occur frequently and are usually brief, however it is unfortunately impossible to guarantee uninterrupted service anywhere on Roatan.
Housekeeping Service
The one-time cleaning fee which applies to your prepaid reservation total covers having our housekeeper clean and prepare the studio prior to your check-in, as well as after your checkout. If you’d like additional cleaning or towel / linen service during your stay, this can be arranged for an additional fee, subject to the housekeeper’s availability. Paid laundry facilities are also available onsite.
The Neighborhood
Located at the end of a long dirt road that leads to a quiet neighborhood called First Bight, the Caribbean Sea is at your doorstep, yet French Harbour is conveniently less than 15 minutes away, offering a well-stocked grocery store, several restaurants, banks, gas stations, pharmacies, and other shops. While First Bight is away from the usual tourist trappings, its geographically central location serves as the perfect launching pad for exploring everything that Roatan has to offer. Embark on a journey to the West and discover bustling tourist hotspots, vibrant nightlife, and pristine beaches lined with resorts and restaurants. Alternatively, head eastward to delve into the island's rich cultural heritage, where you'll find charming fishing villages and secluded beaches untouched by commercialism. See my guidebook to learn about local highlights and discover some of the best spots across the island.
Getting Around
Complimentary onsite parking is available, and a rental vehicle is recommended if you plan to venture out to explore the island. Most of Coco Road (aka. First Bight Road) is unpaved, so while it's possible to drive the road in a small car (I do it all the time!), some of our guests prefer having a larger vehicle. During our rainy season, 4-wheel drive is strongly recommended.
