À propos de cet hébergement
Chateau De Neveu - Sept Chambres , Couchages 14
Perched on a hill in the heart of the Périgord Pourpre, perfectly located between Bergerac and Périgueux, this beautiful château awaits, entirely dedicated to food, wine and the pleasure of the five senses!
If paradise exists in the Dordogne, it most likely looks like Château De Neveu. Set in incredible unspoiled nature, nestled within a 30-hectare private estate of meadows and woodland, this 18th century residence is a nature lovers dream and a true haven of peace, seclusion and serenity. Relax by the gorgeous swimming pool with stunning views across the hills, dine al-fresco beneath the wisteria-clad pergola and come across numerous cycling paths and walking trails in and around the grounds. Look out for owls, deer and local birds as you appreciate the château’s wonderful surroundings.
Château De Neveu welcomes families and friends in total privacy, sleeping up to 14 guests across its seven pretty bedrooms, most with a view of the valley or woods. This elegant and refined home has been lovingly restored to preserve its authenticity yet renovations over recent years have brought it into the 21st century. Guests can expect fine antiques, classical furnishings and a wealth of original features such as exposed beams, original stone walls, the impressive spiral staircase, huge stone carved fireplaces and antique stone flooring.
This is such a fantastic setting for experiencing the very best of the Dordogne from charming villages and bastide towns to glorious vineyards and of course historic chateaux. Explore the landscapes on horseback, hire canoes or kayaks along the Dordogne or enjoy river cruises from Creysse, just 19km away.
Soak up the ambience at picturesque markets showcasing the very best of the Périgord, including those of Bergerac and Périgueux, both fine towns to visit for their architecture, charm and gastronomic reputation. Find yet more amazing cuisine and exquisite character in Sarlat-la-Canéda or venture west to the UNESCO World Heritage vineyards of Saint-Émilion, both just over an hour away by car.

There are many wonderful walking and cycling trails beyond the château’s vast grounds and tennis fans note there is a public tennis court a short drive away. It goes without saying that you will find seasonal canoeing and kayaking opportunities along the Dordogne River and also by parts of the Vézère near Le Bugue (35km). There is horse-riding within a 20-minute drive and golf-lovers have a choice of courses from the 9-hole Golf Du Château Les Merles (18km) to Golf Vigiers (48km) and Golf de la Forge (51km).
Discover wine-tasting in the Bergerac and Pécharmant vineyards or venture towards the great wine city of Bordeaux (124km) and the idyllic hilltop village of Saint-Émilion (86km), home to UNESCO World Heritage classified vineyards.
Of course, history-lovers will adore the many grand châteaux across the Périgord whilst bastide towns, small charming villages and beautiful cities also await. Start off in Bergerac (22km) with its picturesque setting by the Dordogne River, atmospheric markets and historic architecture whilst Périgueux (33km), the capital of the Périgord Noir, will also impress you with its charm, history and gastronomic delights. If you can find the time, venture to the exquisitely preserved medieval Sarlat-la-Canéda (63km), one of France’s most popular destinations and known for its fine cuisine.
Characterful hamlets and villages within a short drive include Clermont de Beauregard, Saint Georges de Montclard and Issac. Slightly further afield, Dordogne gems include Trémolat (26km), home to a Michelin starred restaurant, and Limeuil (33km) where the Dordogne and Vézère converge. If you are hoping to visit the famous villages of Domme and La Roque-Gageac, they can be reached in around an hour.
Heading west, Sainte-Foy-la-Grande is worthy of a visit on a Saturday morning for its fantastic market. Alternatively, explore the countryside to the east across the Vézère valley, famed for its pretty villages and fascinating pre-historic sites, especially around Les Eyzies (40km).
