This storied home houses memories.  We invite you to stay and experience the warm history of The Nickerson House, our restored Victorian home, and make memories of your own. The Nickerson House is listed on the Historic Registry (City of San Antonio). History buffs, architecture and design aficionados, and lovers of elegance especially appreciate The Nickerson House, its amenities, its sunny disposition, and the beautiful vibe of this special home.

Fully renovated with all the modern features you want in a vacation home with all of the character of a storied Victorian house. Felt like an honored guest
It was a privilege to stay in this beautiful property. We loved the historical designation and the amazing restoration done to it. It was a perfect balance of history mixed with all the modern amenities. It was so nice to stay in a spacious house instead of a tiny hotel room. The neighborhood was quiet but yet close to attractions. We would love to stay here again.It was nice to have laundry available and all the soaps and shampoo you needed on hand. There was also coffee and tea provided. Everything was clean and fresh. There are a lot of restaurants to choose from near by. . It is a great location.

Great time!
We had such a great time! House is equipped with everything you need and more. It’s clean, spacious, and comfy! Our group was two families with kids ranging from 13-17 and everyone was entertained while hanging out at the house when we weren’t out exploring all the neat places close by. Would definitely stay again!

In San Antonio for Monarch Butterfly festival that granddaughter coordinated. From the moment we entered this home I knew our long weekend would be extra special. As particular as we are about our VRBO rentals, we all agreed this was one of our favorites. Hope this jewel is available next time we are in San Antonio.

Love!!!
My mom and I rented this little gem so we could visit my nephew at Fort Sam Houston. The house is as pictured and we absolutely LOVED it! I would definitely recommend this home. It’s close to the Riverwalk and FSH. It was comfortable and we felt safe in the neighborhood.

Our stay was amazing. We love visiting San Antonio, but staying in a restored and updated older home was exactly what the doctor ordered. We loved the location. And it was easy to get anywhere we needed in minutes. The house is beautiful. Thank you and we will be back.

AMAZING GRADUATION / FAMILY GATHERING
Driving up, we were a little concerned with the area (some homes run down). However, when we walked in and closed the door it was like we were somewhere else. The property was clean, well stocked, and we felt so comfortable. I mean, WE MOVED IN for 4 nights!! We were able to cook dinner on 2 different nights and visit with family that we hadn't seen in years. We visited out back, played card games at the dining table, and watched the UFC fight. The home was as close to perfect as we could get, we were so grateful for the time and availability to be together. The only real tiny problem, was the bathroom door to the half bath wouldn't latch to stay closed, so someone had to stand guard and hold it closed. I thought parking on the street was going to be an issue, but we had no issues at all. They had parking in back from the ally, but you had to go through the house/side gate to unlock the back gate entrance. They don't show a blender being available, but they do have one if you need it. Check in and communication was clear and easy. Thank you for the wonderful accommodations!! We look forward to another stay with you in the future.

Lovely Remodeled Historic Home
Well located for us between San Antonio airport and Fort Sam Houston. We felt right at home with everything we needed for our weekend while visiting our daughter at Fort Sam Houston. This home had all the modern conveniences and non perishables we needed to enjoy our stay. We would stay here again.

Fantastic home that has the San Antonio Historical Seal proudly displayed on the front porch. Tastefully appointed and probably one of the best values we've enjoyed in a VRBO home. Kent did a great job of responding quickly to our question. We will definitely return. Great job Kent and team!

Beautiful Property
Perfect for our family get together in San Antonio! Close to Pearl District and lots of Restaurants! Also 15 minutes to main part of Riverwalk. Neighborhood is transitioning but didn’t feel unsafe. House has an alarm for peace of mind. It was absolutely perfect for 3 couples with each bedroom having a their own bathroom and even a 1/2 bath in laundry room for convenience! Would definitely stay again!

Our stay at this lovely home was just what we were hoping for when we booked it. A comfortable place to stay and visit with family we don't get to see very often The bedrooms were very comfortable and the living area/dining area/kitchen were warm and inviting. The location is close to the Pearl District and we enjoyed going there for breakfast, lunch and dinner! We would highly recommend visiting this area. Although it is less than a mile to the Pearl District, we did not walk as we didn't know the area. We drove one day and called Uber the next. It was a quick drive. The house had many comforts and although we did not cook during our stay it is well supplied if you choose to.

This historic house in San Antonio was so great. 3 bedrooms and 3 on suite bathrooms accommodated us perfectly. Updated kitchen with large dining room and front room. We enjoyed sitting on the backyard deck overlooking the huge backyard. The house was located close to the river walk, Alamo and Pearl district.

Awesome place for a Mother/Daughter trip
We absolutely LOVED this home! We were very comfortable ! The alarm system was nice to have for peace of mind. The neighborhood was very quiet Each bedroom has its own bathroom, tvs and comfy beds. Wonderful backyard with two separate seating areas was amazing. The upstairs reading nooks were my favorite place The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed Highly recommend this home

Charming house
The house is well equipped, nicely decorated, and very clean! The neighborhood is obviously transitional with some homes that have been renovated and others in great need of repair in this neighborhood. However, once you close the door and you are in the house, it’s all good! When we came into San Antonio it was in the mid fifties, and when we got in the house it was really cold, however, once we raised the temperature and put the space heaters on it was perfect. As with any property, you just have to get acquainted with the house. There is plenty of room, the kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed our stay.

Lovely Restoration in a Convenient Neighborhood
This home has been wonderfully restored, the kitchen and bathrooms are very modern and spacious, but all of the original charm has been retained. The house was beautifully decorated and well appointed. The neighborhood is very conveniently located and is less than 10 minutes away from the Riverwalk and the Pearl Brewery.

Was not happy with the neighborhood. House next door was in horrible sharp.was farther away to Riverfront walk than I was expecting. It was easy to get an Uber. Boards divided the rooms and were uneven so all 4 of us were afraid of falling. The front had a brown spot on the ceiling which I think the upstairs bathroom was leaking.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Nickerson House, a beautifully renovated historic home with modern conveniences. The kitchen is spacious with very, very nice amenities. The queen beds are super comfy. There are 3 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom plus a half-bath near the laundry area. Two bedrooms are downstairs. One downstairs bathroom has a shower; the other bathroom has a shower/tub combo. The 3rd bedroom and bath with a shower is upstairs. There are 4 TVs, one in the living room plus in each of the bedrooms. TVs offer free streaming services or log in with your own account. There are 4 steps leading to the front of the house and 3 steps in the back of the house, but no exterior handrails (at the time of our stay). There is a Nest thermostat which worked great once I learned how to use it. (YouTube helped here!) Parking is available in the back of the house, behind a locked gate and accessible via a back alley. The location is very convenient to downtown, the Pearl District, and major interstates. The property manager was very responsive prior to my booking, before our arrival, and during our stay. As a final thought… The house is in a transitional neighborhood that is rich in history. We hope that other homes are brought back to life and capture their architectural charm just like this house was. Definitely worth a stay here!

Nice stay, but cold
We rented this home for our daughter’s Air Force graduation in November. The house is about 25 minutes from base, and the commute was not bad. The home was very clean and had all the needed amenities. We were a little surprised and concerned with the neighborhood when we arrived; however, we did not experience any issues or ever feel unsafe. My main complaint was the temperature control. When we arrived, it was cold outside and it appeared the heat was not turned on. The temp inside the house was in the low 60’s and it was 9:00 PM. When we turned the heat on, the upstairs room heated quickly, but down stairs just never warmed up. It was SO HOT upstairs it was unbearable. Our daughters had to sleep in the living room on the couch and floor due to excess heat upstairs, meanwhile downstairs was still very cold. There was never a happy medium between upstairs and downstairs which was frustrating. Overall it was a nice stay. If we had not had the temperature issue, I would 100% recommend this home.
