Step inside the main house and discover a spacious first floor complete with a well-equipped kitchen, dining area, and a cozy living room where you can gather with loved ones. The convenience of a full bathroom and mudroom with washer and dryer adds to the comfort of your stay. Plus, a bedroom with 2 bunk beds (brand new mattresses) and its own exterior entrance offers flexibility and privacy. Head upstairs to find the luxurious master bedroom featuring an ensuite bathroom and private balcony access, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee with a view. Another queen bedroom (brand new mattress) also boasts an ensuite bathroom for added convenience. 1. When we booked the house in February, the description was “golf cart included”. But once we arrived, they said it’s $700 a week. 2. The backyard was not prepared for renters, it was very dirty. 3. The mattresses were in terrible condition, especially in the master bedroom. It was impossible to sleep on. It had a lot of huge yellow and brown spots. 4. The room above the garage smelled damp and moldy. It was impossible to stay there during the day or overnight. 5. The garage was locked. 6. There is nothing in this house for the beach like chairs, sand toys, etc. 7. The pool is clothing at 7:15pm which is very early. 8. Walk to the beach takes about 20-25 min. I do not recommend renting this house for the family beach vacation especially with kids.

The home was beautiful and the neighborhood is beautiful, quiet and safe. Renting a golf cart made the short trek to the beach very nice. It was nice that every room had their own bathroom. We really enjoyed our stay and were sad it’s over.

Poor Experience at a Beach Rental
If you’re planning a beach vacation, you may want to think twice before renting from Sand Dollar One management company. We recently had a terrible experience with this particular company, and we’re here to warn you of the potential pitfalls. 

We paid a heavy cleaning fee, yet the home was in need of many repairs. The toilet seats were old and needed to be replaced, and there were multiple items from previous renters under the mattresses. The kitchen drawers had old food crumbs, and the coffee maker needed to be cleaned before we could use it, just to name a few. We also paid for a gas golf cart, but it was not provided until three days into our rental and they refuse to consider any reimbursement. 

The management company does not work on the weekends, so if you need anything, you’re out of luck. The rental was also very expensive compared to other rentals closer to the beach. The neighbors didn’t like the rental groups, and they complained of children playing outside, laughter unwelcome. 

It was clear that the management company didn’t care about our experience, but only about the money. Paying through Vrbo just ensures that you will not get a refund when it’s due to you. We have made this trip for thirty years, and this management company was by far the worst. 

We hate giving a bad review online, but this one was earned. If you’re planning a beach vacation, we urge you to stay away from Sand Dollar One management company.

Great baby’s first beach trip!
8 adults and one infant stayed 5 nights. Cooked all dinners and lunches at house. Publix close proximity. Grill was great, could use some long handle grill tools. Description could include driving guest might consider bringing additional dish soap/laundry pods/trash bags/TP/napkins etc. We inquired about keurig which was onsite. Asked about a crockpot which was provide along with hot pads. Management group was very responsive to our requests.

The property was amazing! Beautiful neighborhood and not too bad a walk to the beach. Having the golf cart was definitely a plus! My family filled the house and carriage house and enjoyed Blue Mountain immensely. All the restaurants were delicious and of course, a visit to the ice cream shoppe became a nightly event.

There was so much room, we could have shared it with more people. There was an issue with the Wi-Fi on the first day and the property manager was very quick to get it fixed. We would definitely stay here again.

Would not recommend
Location is far from beach. Definitely have 2 drive. Oven never worked entire stay. Furniture was not comfortable and very dirty. Parking is a problem as driveway will only hold 2 vehicles. Window shade in 3rd floor bedroom broke and hit my uncle gashing him in the head while he was sleeping. We had to make the best of it.

The Perfect Spot
We chose this house as a vacation spot for for my daughter and I along with three other mother/daughter duos. This house could not have been more perfect!! The location was so perfect and convenient. The neighborhood was quiet, and the neighborhood pool was a nice reprieve from the beach for the girls. The house was set up wonderfully with each room having its own bathroom. That was a huge convenience and time saver with 4 teenage girls! Communication prior to my stay was excellent! I can’t imagine a better place to stay in the area. Thanks for a marvelous vacation!

The property management Maint manager, Thomas and his wife, were awesome. If it were not for their promptness and kindness, this would not have been 4 stars. The cleanliness was not up to par when we arrived, but the fixed the issues immediately. Thank you! Overall, the home needs some TLC. You can see where holes have been patched and painted, baseboards are all scratched up, etc. The TV in the living room is going out and the picture is terrible. We went to use the gas grill on the back patio and there was a squirrel nest in it with a squirrel currently residing in it as well. I would definitely use sand dollar rentals for our vacation again due to the service from Thomas and his wife, but would not stay in this particular unit unless the owners did a massive TLC overhaul.

Nice home but too many bugs
The home was nice, check in easy, walk to beach short. However, tv in master bedroom was broken for first week of stay, then washer broke and we needed to clean baseball uniforms and clothing for a two week stay and ended up spending $32 at laundry mat. The biggest issue were the roaches. They were all over including kitchen counter, master bathroom, living room, and downstairs bathroom. Returning home we made sure to leave out bags in the garage and empty all belongings outdoors to avoid bring bugs into home. An exterminator needs to be called immediately to resolve and for the price paid for a two week stay I do not appreciate having to deal with roaches.

We enjoyed the community, neighborhood and the little walk to the beach and ice cream shop. The house had everything we needed to make us feel like we were at home. The beds were comfortable and the house was spacious enough for everyone to spread out after a long day. We really enjoyed sitting out on the screened in porch at night after dinner.

Fantastic Family Accommodations
We booked as a spring break to get our kids a reprieve from the Cleveland weather. We were very much looking forward to a change of scenery for the first time in over a year in quarantine. The house completely met our expectations and then some. With the exception of some dust and cobwebs, the house was very well-maintained & completely met our expectations. The Pros: The location was great, positioned adjacent to an entrance gate which meant we didn't have to worry about our kids (6, 4 and 1) encountering speeding cars/trucks past the house. There was plenty of room to spread out for my wife and I along with my parents. Bathrooms were very clean as were the common areas and no musty smells as can be common in beach properties. Our two oldest loved the bunk beds which they found to be one of the highlights of the trip. The Cons We vacuum our house daily and the lack of a working vacuum (Dyson v6 would not hold a charge) was an issue. Having come back from the beach and unavoidably tracking sand into the house was inevitable. We resorted to sweeping with a broom & sucking up with a dust buster. Wish we could have been more diligent with cleaning which we would have been happy to do. It would have been nice to have a toaster in the main house as well as a selection of larger pots and pans. The house can accommodate a large group and it would be nice for that to be reflected in the ability to cook for that large group. Especially during this time when guests like us are still reluctant to do in-person dining. We cooked dinner every night and it was difficult at times to accomplish that. No grill brush. Again, we would have loved to keep the grill tidier, but we couldn't find a way to scrape it after usage which we would have normally done. And finally, which I recognized can be unavoidable, the CONSTRUCTION! The house across the street had a power saw going the entire trip. And around the corner was the construction of a new build. Literally putting up walls with pneumatic nail guns/hammers and saws running constantly. Not great for kid naps or the relaxing vibe we were anticipating. We did have access to leave, but there were vans, trucks, trailers & equipment running from 8AM - 6PM...literally all day, everyday. To be clear, this is a 5-star review. We were blown away by the house and location. We loved the area & are already planning our return to 30A for Spring Break 2022 to experience all we missed out on post-COVID.
