Horrible Experience
We arrived at this property to find that it had sustained major water damage in the upstairs bedroom and the leak then had made its way to the livingroom below. The owner had emailed us 4 hours prior to our arrival, which we did not see because we were traveling by car. We became aware of the water /leaking issue upon our arrive at the property. We were given the option by the owner to relocate or stay and he would compensate us for the inconvience. We looked for other options however, with our group of 12 there was nothing available in the area. We agreed to stay and be compensated for the loss of the bedroom and livingroom area. When I asked the owner after our second night how much the compensation would be, he stated that he would refund the cleaning fee. We felt this was not comparable to the amount of inconvinience we experienced. We were trying to negotiate back and forth on a reasonable amount. He accused us of trying to "squeeze" the most money we could out of him. At this point, he is rescinding his offer of compensation completely. This owner does not care about the comfort or of his guests. In additon, there was mold on the shower curtain, the towels smelled of cigarette smoke the front entrance to the house had not been shoveled which resulted in about a 2 foot mound of snow/ice that been compacted down from being walked on. The unit is also in need of many updates and a paint job. There were many scuff marks on the walls. Horrible house and owner!!!!!
