**Review of Nutmeg Hill Villa, Soufriere, St. Lucia**
We arrived late at night and encountered a very poor check-in process. Although the owner eventually came to help us unlock the doors and retrieve the keys, the initial lack of support was disappointing. Communication with the host deteriorated as our stay progressed. No hot water for the last three days, the host did not seem concerned, and towards the end of our stay our emails and phone calls went unanswered. The host never communicated with us during the fiasco with the door lock. The last day, we encountered a broken door handle in apt 1 which prevented exiting. This situation was distressing, especially since we were waiting for transportation to the airport. We relied on the information from the host ‘s mother from across the road or his daughter on the phone. There wasn’t a manual to instruct us on specifics for the 2 apts: on/off switches for the electric, the location of the washer/dryer (?), what to do with trash, the location of the WiFi code, the master switches that powered the mini splits, etc. The listing indicates a “smart” TV but no cable provided and depended on guest streaming accounts if you had one. The location was misrepresented; it wasn't close to the mud baths or the city, necessitating taxis (50 US). Car “provided” in listing, no car. Blanket requested for cool nights, not provided for 2 days. Noise from roosters and traffic was disruptive.
