Venez vous perdre dans les couchers de soleil sur le lac Michigan à partir de votre propre porche. La maison donne sur le lac Michigan avec une plage privée au bout de vos doigts. Un endroit parfait pour une réunion de famille. Profitez des feux de joie, des couchers de soleil sur le lac Michigan, nage dans le lac rafraîchissant, un bon livre dans un hamac ou pizzas faites maison. La maison est remplie d'œuvres d'art par le propriétaire qui est illustrateur de livres pour enfants. Les jardins sont grandes et très bon pour ceux qui veulent passer leur temps sur le pont en admirant la vue. La propriété est pleine d'activités amusantes pour les enfants de se divertir toute la journée.

Maison:
4 chambres et 3. 5 salles de bain. La maison a trois étages et 3000 mètres carrés. Pieds. Capacité d'accueil 13 personnes. Le niveau du sol est une chambre à coucher avec 5 lits et une salle de bains privative complète. Sur le niveau principal est une grande et ouverte cuisine et salle à manger. Table à manger peut accueillir confortablement 10. Cuisine est spacieuse, idéale pour un groupe qui aime cuisiner ensemble. Sur le niveau principal est un salon avec cheminée qui a des vues spéculaires sur le lac, un endroit parfait pour regarder le coucher du soleil. Ce niveau a un grand porche qui entoure les côtés sud et ouest de la maison. Ce porche est un endroit idéal pour un repas en plein air facile et belle.
Au troisième étage, 3 chambres et 2 salles de bains. La chambre de maître avec un lit king size face du lac Michigan et a une salle de bain privée. Vous pouvez regarder la lune sur le lac toute la nuit dans la chambre des maîtres. La deuxième chambre a un lit king size et partage une salle de bain avec la troisième chambre. La troisième chambre a un lit queen et un lit double de taille. A ce niveau, est un porche petit face à l'ouest.

Terrains:
Accueil se trouve sur 2 1/2 acres. Cour arrière dispose d'un paradis pour un cuisinier! Sous la tonnelle de raisin est un gril à charbon de bois, four à pizza, et une terrasse pour 20. Cueillir des herbes du jardin d'herbes aromatiques pour votre repas et regarder pousser les fleurs. Wrens et carillons éoliens ornent la tonnelle. À côté de la treille est une jungle gym pour les enfants.
Les motifs sont des merveilles d'enfants. Il ya un 15'x30 'terrain de basket en béton, jeu d'échecs géant, barres de singe, balançoires et une balançoire. Les enfants seront amusent l'extérieur pendant des jours.
Pour les adultes il ya des hamacs, des ponts, une chaise-garde de la vie, des fosses feu de joie et de chaises pour profiter de la vue sur le lac et les brises chaudes.

Accès à la plage:
De la cour avant d'un chemin vous mène à 100 pieds de plage privée. Il ya un escalier avec des rampes qui mènent de la cour à la plage. Sur la falaise est un porche ombragé parfait pour un après-midi de détente. Venez de la plage et rincer sous la douche extérieure.

La zone:
Vous êtes à distance de marche de bleuets Michigan infâmes (vous choisissez). La maison se trouve à 5 minutes en voiture du centre-ville de South Haven où vous trouverez les marchés fermiers, une salle de cinéma historique et de grands restaurants. 2 miles au sud de la maison sont les Buren État Dunes Parc du fourgon. Le quartier est calme et la propriété est très privé.

Pendant les mois d'été, la maison est loué à la semaine du samedi au samedi. Check-in à 04h00 le samedi et le check-out est 10h00 samedi.

Amazing property, amazing views
What a special property! When you have views and lake access like this it’s hard to want anything more, but the amenities (so many bikes!), the grounds, the pizza oven and the amazing owners take this to the next level - thank you Wendy and John! Clean, well-stocked kitchen and plenty of room for our 8 adults and 2 dogs. Also close to a bike path that connects to South Haven on one side and the dunes in another direction.

fabulous time at the Sandcastle
Thank you, Wendy and John, for a terrific experience! We had 8 adults (4 couples) and a toddler. Each couple had a private room except for the toddler. There is plenty of seating/dining space for everyone, with a large kitchen table, a long picnic table on the deck overlooking lake michigan, and a long table under a pergola next to the fabulous wood-fired pizza oven (we cheated and bought dough from a local pizza shop). We used the deck-top fire pit overlooking the lake every night. The kitchen was well stocked for large-scale cooking. We brought some pans, knives, etc, which proved unnecessary. The hosts were attentive and responsive and live within sight of the property. The refrigerator was not cooling properly when we arrived, and the hosts quickly brought over a temporary replacement refrigerator. They immediately brought over a replacement grill when we pointed out a problem with the existing one. They also helped us to fire up the pizza oven and provided helpful instructions. The property is huge and park-like, with swings, climbing structure, 1/2 basketball court, and shed with bikes (and pump) and beach chairs. There is a nice sand beach, but the waterline to about 15 feet offshore is quite rocky (about 2" rocks) so bring your water shoes. Be sure to ask John to show you his marble sculptures and ask Wendy about her clay sculptures of NYC subway riders. Her beautiful children's book illustrations are framed throughout the house.

Wonderful hosts and very special property
Our family (ages 4 to 76) spent July 14-20 at this special property. Everything was even better than the photos. The home is filled with Wendy’s beautiful artwork. Our 10-year-old granddaughter said she wished she could live there forever. Wendy and John went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and accommodate our needs. They even purchased a cushioned deck chair so our oldest family member would be more comfortable. Wendy’s drawing lessons were a big hit, especially with our 7-year-old grandsons. Our grandkids enjoyed hammocks, playground and basketball court. The beach was beautiful and the sunsets were amazing. South Haven is a short drive away ( less than 10 minutes to a big grocery store). John helped us with the outdoor pizza oven and Wendy provided a recipe for pizza dough. Perfect meal for our last evening at the Sandcastle. Wonderful memories.

Magical
From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for something special. The Sandcastle offers incredible views of Lake Michigan. Whether sipping morning coffee on the deck or watching the sunset, the scenery never failed to captivate us. All of our children were overjoyed with the amenities! From the children's books, dollhouse, swings, playgrounds there was never a dull moment. The hosts truly thought of everything. The well-maintained grounds were a delight. We explored the gardens, had a picnic on the beach and made our own wood-fired pizza. It felt like our own private paradise. Wendy and John were warm, welcoming, and attentive. They made sure our stay was comfortable and memorable. Their genuine care added an extra layer of magic to our vacation. We can't wait to return.

Wonderful family gathering!
What an amazing property! My sister, brother and parents all stayed with our families! The house and property are magical. Lots of fun things to do outside. The kitchen was well stocked and we loved trying the pizza oven. Wendy and John were amazing hosts and even gave an art lesson which was a huge hit. We stayed in October for a long weekend and hope to come back during the summer to enjoy the beach more! Highly recommend!

Fantasyland with a Beach!
If we could give 6 stars, we would! the property is like having a resort all to yourself. The house was awesome, and had so much character thanks to the personal artistic touches in every room. Big and spacious, yet very cozy and warm. The beach is fantastic, and we really lucked out wit 4 straight days of sun and warmth late in September. Even the lake was plenty warm for swimming and Frisbee tossing. But, perhaps the best part was the hosts. The Halperins are truly the kind of people you feel enriched after meeting. Not only are they two of the nicest people you'll ever meet, they are also very interesting to chat with. Without question, we will return!

Wonderful family vacation
This place is amazing. My family of 7 adults and 5 kids ages 1 1/2 to 8 had non-stop fun. The pictures on the website don’t do this place justice. You drive in and the sculpture garden takes your breath away before you are 50 yards into the property. There are swings, hammocks, teeter totters, a jungle gym, a play house and a puppet show arena for the kids. For the adults, there is a pizza oven and outdoor dining area that we used twice. Also a large dining table on the porch that we used a lot and a big kitchen that was the focal point for a lot of the week we stayed. The beach had a new stairway built to access it and we had a lot of fun looking for rocks and swimming. (Bring water shoes as the water line is quite rocky). The host live on the 2.5 acre property but don’t get in your way at all. In fact, Wendy and John were a pleasure to get to know and I actually sought them out a couple of times to talk as they are both quite interesting. Wendy has an art school on property and gave our entire family an art lesson. They were quick to fix any minor issues immediately. We all discussed coming back again in the future.

Magical vacation
We stayed a week with our children and grandchildren to celebrate our 60th anniversary. The house was so well equipped with all the kitchen appliances, dishes, glassware and paper supplies that we needed. There were so many activities for the kids to enjoy and the adults certainly made use of the many hammocks. Our week was magical in this whimsical place. There was a sturdy, easy to climb stairway to a fabulous beach where all week we only saw only 3 other people. The hosts, Wendy and John could not have been more welcoming. We had no problems and enjoyed every day spent on the park like, sculpture filled grounds. Wendy even gave our grandchildren an art lesson. This place is even better than the photographs. We have stayed at numerous VRBOs and this was by far the best!

Awesome place for a family!
We loved our stay at Sandcastle! We had four generations staying at the house, ranging in ages from 3 to 94, and it was a fantastic place with lots of activities, both indoors and outdoors for the kids. The private beach was amazing, and a new staircase from the property to the beach made it easy to use. There are lots of places to sit and enjoy the view of the lake. Our 6 and 11 year old granddaughters wanted to live there! The owner, Wendy, gave two of the kids drawing lessons, and she couldn't have been nicer. It is a very secluded place with tons of activities for kids. If you want nature and isolation along with a great adventure for everyone, Sandcastle is the place to go!

Great for a crowd!
This place is even better than it looks in the listing. Wendy is committed to her guests having a great stay, and we did. Being right on the beach is amazing, with so many place to gaze at the lake. The beach is clean and large enough for more than 10. The yard has so many activities for all ages—we had some cool weather, but were outdoors a lot. The house is full of art, toys, craft materials, large places to gather, and the most well-stocked kitchen I’ve ever seen in a rental—cookware, utensils, herbs and spices—we lacked for nothing. There’s even an herb garden we were encouraged to use. I highly recommend this beach house if you want to have fun.

Wonderful thanksgiving together with friends at this lovely lakefront home.
Definitely recommend this house for families with kids, there is so much to do outside even in colder weather. The only complaint is that the oven is a little small, but we still managed to fit the turkey inside.

Absolutely loved our stay here. Hosts were super nice and helpful. House quirky, large and equipped with everything we needed. Property gorgeous with plenty to do for everyone. Art is everywhere you look!
Inside of this home and outside, there is beauty everywhere! In the kitchen, you will see lavishly painted chairs at a charming, large table; on the wall, you might see the larger-than-life self portrait of the owners' daughter; on the table before the giant picture window, you might find a beautiful sculpture of a wren. No corner is left without whimsy and creativity. This is not a 5 Star hotel accommodation, it is a home. You will not find thick Egyptian towels, expensive soaps and a spa, but what you will find will stay with you forever. Beyond the creativity of the owners is the landscape. No matter what the season (we visited in Autumn this year) the lake never disappoints. The night we arrived was blustery and cold, with whitecaps everywhere. The next morning, the lake was more calm, and a gorgeous green. That evening, the lake turned to diamonds before a stunning sunset. In the Summer, the outdoor spaces are terrific! Private beach, several tables and chairs, even an outdoor bathtub! Also on the grounds, lots of playing areas for young children (swings, large sculptures, a chess board). If you are lucky, you might get a chance for a drawing lesson with Wendy. She believes everyone has taken for drawing (I never thought I did) and believe me, she is such a talented and dedicated teacher, by the end of your lesson you will believe her! You will actually create some small masterpieces of your own to take home. Honestly, this is the most welcoming, beautiful place I have ever seen on VRBO. The town is close, lots of restaurants to choose from, but a well-appointed kitchen and wood-fired pizza over are on the grounds. We even had an impromptu tea party, with home-baked scones, marmalade, clotted cream and radish sandwiches -- such a lovely afternoon. If you value creativity, beauty and whimsy, this is definitely the place for you. Art is everywhere you look and if you are lucky, you will even find it within yourself!

Magic!
This property is just magic for adults and children alike! My 3 and 6 year olds had a ball playing with everything that was available both inside and outside. Wendy was kind enough to give us all an art lesson, plus a bunch of art supplies that she generously sent home with us. The home is well equipped with comfortable beds, and just about anything you would need (extra pillows, blankets, towels, etc.) We felt very welcome there and hope to return again soon!

Lovely Stay in South Haven Area
We quite enjoyed our stay. The house is large, and has plenty of sleeping options, especially for families. It is well supplied for large groups--big tables, lots of dishes & utensils. The lake view is spectacular. The high water & beach erosion that has affected the entire Lake Michigan shoreline means that you have to go a little north (to South Haven) or south (there is a state park & also a little preserve area) for a beach just now, but these are not too far. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

My 60th birthday getaway
We were greeted by Wendy the property owner and she welcomed us to her beautiful and Magical place . It was like a fairytale. We loved the house and especially back yard overlooking the lake . We are definitely coming back next summer and this time we will stay longer . Also the steps leading to the private beach will be ready soon which makes it even more wonderful and easy access to the beach right from the backyard. Wendy and her family are wonderful and pleasant hosts . Definitely recommend this beautiful place especially if you need to relax from your everyday busy life. *****

Kid friendly lake view
This beautiful property had many ways to entertain children. We had six grandkids with us ages 11 to 9 months. They enjoyed the swings, the monkey bars, hammocks, teeter totter‘s and Wendy even gave us a drawing lesson which the kids thoroughly enjoyed. Twice we used the pizza oven. The beaches were close. I think the best part of this property of course is the view from the patio looking at Lake Michigan. A big bonus was the blueberry distributor at the end of the road! Lots to do!
