Quick trip to area
Linda’s house was perfect for our quick trip to visit family in Taylorville. It has all the charm of an old farmhouse but is well maintained and extremely clean. Our three year old loved visiting the pumpkin barn. Linda was quick to respond after we left and thought we had forgotten something at the home. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful experience during our 2-day stay. The house sits on a working farm that produces pumpkins during the fall and asparagus during the spring. We were lucky enough to experience the pumpkin season. The house is an early farm house, but kept up very well. Very clean, lots of amenities. Well stocked kitchen, lots of coffee variety provided. Bathrooms updated, upstairs bedrooms very cozy and had window units in each room so to pick your temperature during night time. Lots of space downstairs where 8 of us hung out and enjoyed a very relaxing time of family togetherness. The outside is a Norman Rockwell setting with barns decorated with old farm equipment, tools, cornstalks and pumpkins. They even had an old root cellar, not active, but just another great addition to the yesteryear aura. Porch swings outside and on the enclosed porch. Big ole gum tree in the front yard. Grain harvesting equipment going by on the adjacent road just added more farm life experience. Took the family to Lincoln museum, which was only about a 20 minute drive. Close to Springfield and Taylorville if you need anything. The owners were so wonderful and onsite so we got to visit while they were attending to the pumpkin sales. To give you an idea of the setting, the local county queens showed up for a photo shoot while we were there. If you want to escape and have a quiet weekend to yourselves, this is the place. We will definitely stay there again.

This was a ladies trip and we had a blast. The house was big and comfortable. The room was unbelievable. And if you come to this house just go grocery shopping the house is filled with everything. Towers, blankets, kitchen, supplies, coffee, you name u would enjoy yourself in this home. Linda, we enjoyed every day.

We had a wonderful stay at this country farmhouse. It accomodates a large group easily and was quiet, spacious, squeaky clean, and well equipped. Linda was great at responding quickly to any questions. Loved enjoying group meals in the central kitchen and dining room with antique table. Felt like home! Illinois Farmhouse
Having been raised in Central Illinois on a farm I felt right at home. The home was beautiful and it was so much fun to read about the history of the home and farm. We even bought some of the popcorn they grew--delicious! The house sat in the middle of a triangle between the 3 homes we were visiting, Perfect location. Thank you for maintaining such a beautiful old home for visitors to enjoy!

Farmhouse with star filled sky & peeping tree frogs was the retreat we needed on a trip of consecutive days of driving. Ample space for family to spread out, unwind, and make food. The house was well stocked with extras that made us feel special and right at home at the same time.

We loved our stay at this spacious and beautiful farmhouse in Edinburg, Illinois! We only had two couples but this place easily could have many more. Our host Linda was very hospitable and we enjoyed conversing with her and her husband on their beautiful property. We plan to be back in the future.

Beautiful Farmhouse Getaway
We were very blessed being at Pickering Place. This is a neat farmhouse with large rooms, nice furniture, and quiet and peaceful surroundings. We loved the lighting and all the windows! The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels. My kids made dinner and they said there were lots of pyrex dishes that made it feel homey. The charging station in the kitchen was really nice. The four recliners in the living room made for a really great family movie night. I grew up on a farm and I was thrilled to walk around the fields and see the various plants in different stages of growth. We really liked all the swings around the property. The kids loved the radio on the front porch. It was a beautiful space to reconnect with nature. Even though we didn’t stay long enough, all the restaurant recommendations and church lists were really nice. There was something quite heartwarming about the guest registry. As far as my kids are concerned, the only thing missing is a piano! 😊 This was a great place to unwind after a long day at the state fair.
