Les points faibles : Personnel et service, infrastructures et conditions de l’hébergement, confort de la chambre
A disappointing, overpriced room in Ortigia.
We found the apartament with no issues and Caroline (the owner) seemed lovely. The place was very quirky and had a pleasant vibe to it. Unfortunately, this is where the positives end. I was hugely disappointed that the images on hotels.com were labeled completely incorrectly. The room was supposed to have a private balcony with a sea view. Also a bathroom with a sea view… both falsely advertised. The sea view was visible only from the front entrance of the house, not from the room. The room had a view of a back street. The bathroom view was completely obstructed by a construction work. The scaffoldings next door were not mentioned on the booking site. This was a massive eye sore partially spoiling the front entrance views too. Bathroom facilities were broken - bidet missing the part where the water would normally come out of, making it almost impossible to use. It was impossible to have a bath - the switch from shower to bath was snapped off. Shower curtains weren’t actual shower curtains - more like see-through decorative netting - looked cute but made no sense and certainly did not stop water falling onto the bathroom floor. There was no kitchen facilities, which to be fair weren’t advertised, but you would expect some basics in a b&b type of accommodation.
At night, entering the building involved a climb up the stairs in between construction scaffoldings with no street lighting whatsoever - hazardous. Overall, hugely overpriced, basic accommodation. Very disappointing.
