The private garden, lawn and shaded by coconut trees, with outdoor furniture and areas to relax, offers you the right place to socialize and take refuge from the sun, after taking a good swim in the sea and washing off the salt in the fresh water shower.
The stay includes bed linen, bath towels, sun hat, towels and chair backs for the beach, various games, books in several languages and limited internet.
For your safety and care, we have a safe in each room, a fire extinguisher, a fire blanket and a first aid kit. Other observations
The Dhow Blue house is located in Praia do Tofo, in the province of Inhambane, in Mozambique. It is located on the sand, with the sea 30m away, in a bay protected from the wind, and is the only beach in the region guarded by lifeguards.
The town of Tofo is a tropical paradise, with kilometers of deserted beaches, surrounded by palm trees, coconut trees and flowering trees, where the water temperature varies from 20°C in winter to 30°C in the summer months.
It is world-renowned for diving, as the Indian Ocean, in this particular area, due to the Agulhas sea current, offers unique marine life, where we can have close encounters, throughout the year, with dolphins, manta rays and whale sharks. Between May and October, a large number of Humpback whales migrate along the coast and love to come very close to the beach, providing grandiose shows characteristic of these giants of the deep.
The waters around Tofo are full of biodiversity and offer a dazzling variety of corals that can be admired through snorkeling and diving. There are 4 diving centers in Tofo, all of them easily accessible on foot (Diversity Scuba, Peri-Peri Divers, Liquid Dive Adventures and Tofo Scuba), as well as other companies that offer a wide range of experiences combining different diving options, safaris , surfing and culture, such as Mozambique Experience and Mabeco Tours.
The surf wave also passes through here, as we have great beaches for beginners, in Tofo, as well as for experienced surfers, in Tofinho. The best swell direction is southeast, while the wind is southwest, favoring the famous right-handers. Practice kitesurfing with the support of the Kitesurf Tofo school, horse riding along the beach with Cavalheiros do Tofo, rent a bike at the surf shop and explore the village, receive a massage on the beach by Vanda, right outside the Dhow Blue, taking a yoga class in front of the sea, with 13XOYoga, being lucky enough to attend a spiritual retreat or a music and dance festival, or simply relaxing under a coconut tree drinking coconut water, are pleasures that you can enjoy in this place.
Tofo has a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, a local market with fresh fruit and vegetables, some art and craft shops, such as Dhatonga, Libumba, Meraki and Guitsungo, which combine traditionally made pieces with contemporary design, typical food restaurants Mozambican and international, with high quality options, such as Sumi, Maracujá, Tofo Tofo, What U Want, Branko's, among others, a delicious homemade ice cream brand, Zhizha, and another that makes wonderful artisan breads, Crumb. The town has a small but lively nightlife, with quality bands and DJs and spaces that invite you to dance with your feet in the sand.
In the village you can find some surf shops (Tofo Surf Company and The Surf Shack) and a local surf association (Tofo Boardriders de Moçambique) which co-organizes the surf championship (Tofo Surf Series), with several events throughout the year and promotes surfing classes with the community's children, who every day of the week enter an orderly line on the beach, facing the sea, forming a unique 'photograph'. It shouldn't be long before these waves are on everyone's lips, as even CNN is already “surfing” here.

Trips to Praia da Barra to watch the sunset, walk among the mangroves, enjoy a meal on the beach, at Green Turtle, or try wood-fired pizzas overlooking the bay, at Mafu Haus, dive into the natural pools of Tofinho, at Praia Backdoor, spend the day at Praia da Rocha and climb to the top of the dune to go sandboarding, visit the Boa Gente coconut oil factory, have a guided tour of the community of Mutamba-Indundo, to get to know the clay from the region and taking the brick route, spending the day in the historic city of Inhambane or going by boat to the paradise of Linga-Linga are also some activities we recommend doing.
