A Warm Welcome
Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by a charming firepit area complete with seating, perfect for enjoying a cozy evening under the stars. A propane grill is available for outdoor cooking, making it easy to gather with family and friends for a casual meal surrounded by nature. Step inside, and you’ll find a welcoming open-concept living space that effortlessly flows from room to room, making it ideal for both intimate gatherings and larger get-togethers.
Living Area and Dining Room
The heart of Black Bear Cabin is the spacious living room with vaulted ceilings, a large fireplace, and a television for your entertainment. The inviting ambiance is perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes or exploring the nearby trails. The adjacent dining area, featuring its own fireplace, comfortably seats 10 guests, creating a warm and inviting setting for shared meals. Whether you’re enjoying a family dinner or a casual breakfast, the flow between the kitchen and dining areas ensures everyone can be together.
Fully Equipped Kitchen
The open, fully stocked kitchen is a chef's dream, complete with modern appliances, ample counter space and a wine cellar. Whether you’re preparing a full meal or just brewing a cup of coffee, you'll have everything you need. The kitchen also has seating for 6 at the counter, allowing guests to chat and relax over a glass of wine while meals are being prepared. For coffee lovers, there’s a Keurig coffee maker (please bring your own K-cups), along with ground coffee, a variety of teas, sugar, and non-dairy creamer. In addition, you’ll find cooking oils, spices, paper towels, trash bags, and napkins provided for your convenience.
Comfortable Bedrooms
The cabin’s four bedrooms are thoughtfully designed with comfort and privacy in mind. All bedrooms are ensuite, meaning each room has its own private bathroom. On the main floor, you’ll find the master suite, which provides a peaceful retreat with cozy bedding, TV and ample space to relax. Two additional guest rooms on this level are perfect for family or friends. Each bedroom includes ceiling fans, ensuring a comfortable sleep no matter the season.
The fourth bedroom, located on the basement level, is perfect for guests seeking privacy. This room also has its own bathroom, making it ideal for those who may want some separation from the rest of the group.
Basement and Entertainment
The full walk-out basement is a fantastic space for family fun and relaxation. A large screen TV with Dolby Sonos bar awaits, along with a pool table and a round table perfect for poker, board games, and puzzles. A separate exercise area, with weights, exercise mats, bench, aerobic step platform and a Peloton bike offers an additional fitness option for guests (please bring your log-in if you wish to access classes, though you can still enjoy the bike without one). For your convenience, a fridge and also a washer and dryer are available on this level, so you can keep your gear fresh throughout your stay.
For younger guests or those looking for a cozy retreat, the Bear Cub Den, also located in the basement, offers three rustic bunk beds, sleeping up to six people. While this space is designed with kids in mind, beds are large and can comfortably accommodate adults, making it perfect for large groups or families.
Outdoor Spaces
Step outside to the expansive front deck, where you can take in the stunning mountain views, enjoy the fresh air, or simply relax on the Adirondack chairs. A large picnic table on the side patio invites outdoor dining, while the covered back porch offers a peaceful, private spot for two to four guests to unwind, with views of the surrounding woods. Located just 1.2 miles from Windham Mountain Resort, you’re only a short drive from skiing and snowboarding in the winter, and hiking, mountain biking, and golf in the warmer months. With Windham and Hunter Mountain Resorts nearby, you have access to some of the best skiing in the Catskills. In addition to outdoor activities, Windham offers a charming village with local shops, restaurants, and entertainment.
Nearby, you’ll find golf courses, hiking trails, and plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventures. The area is a four-season destination, with something for everyone no matter the time of year.
Additional Amenities
Black Bear Cabin is fully equipped with all the essentials to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We provide shampoo, conditioner, soap, and toilet paper and hair dryer in each bathroom. Additionally, ground coffee, a variety of teas, and basic cooking supplies are provided to help you settle in right away.
Please note that due to the wildlife in the area, all trash must be taken to the local waste management facility (less than 5 minutes away) before checkout. The facility charges $2 per trash bag, while recycling is free.
The house also has exterior security cameras for safety purposes.

Late check-out:
The check-out time at Black Bear Cabin is 12 pm, which allows guests to enjoy the morning in full. However, if possible we do offer the option for you to extend check out to as late as 8 pm. Once booked, you will receive the information on how to request late check-out.
Early Check-in:
The check-in time at Black Bear Cabin is 4 pm.
However, if possible we do offer the option for you to request check-in as early as 10 am, which allows you to enjoy the property for almost a full day.
