Marrakesh, a former imperial city in western Morocco, is a major economic center and home to mosques, palaces, and gardens. The medina - the old, historic district of Marrakech.
The main square in the Medina is Djemaa El-Fna. It is surrounded by endless labyrinths of souks (bazaars) and alleyways covering all of the Medina. Djemma El-Fna is a must as there is always something to see there day and night whether it be snake charmers, acrobats, soothsayers, or the musicians and food stalls (some overcharging heavily). At night the square really comes to life as people navigate toward the exotic aromas and the entertaining sights. As the evening darkens, the hustle and bustle rages on. The exotic music appears louder and more hypnotic.
Directly south of the Djemaa El-Fna is Rue Bab Agnaou. A five-minute walk takes you straight to the famous Bab Agnaou entrance to the Kasbah district of the Medina. The Bab Agnaou entrance, through the ramparts, is by far the most impressive of all Medina rampart entrances. The Kasbah, in comparison to the Derbs (streets) surrounding the Djemaa El-Fna, portrays a calmer, less abrasive atmosphere. It is home to the Royal Palace, the former El-Badi Palace, and the Saadian Tombs. This naturally creates better security, cleaner streets and a hint of being a special place in the Medina. The Kasbah has its own little bazaars (souks), food stalls, restaurants, hotels and riads for travelers to enjoy.
Marrakech Airport is 15 minutes away, central Marrakech is 20 minutes. We offer a professional driver/guide, excursions, evenings in town and airport transfers.
Once inside the medina, travel by foot is a good way to go, even though seeing all the major attractions will require a good deal of walking. Hiring bicycles makes getting around much easier. Buses or petit taxis are options. Almost all the bus lines in the city stop at Jemaa El Fna, the central square, and Place Yossef Ben Tachfine. In Marrakech, you will find about 300 caleches or small horse-drawn carriages. City Sightseeing Bus is available at Square de Foucaul that will take you around the outskirts of the city, with commentary provided via headphones (supplied with your ticket) in 8 languages.
The property is only 5 minutes from many prestigious golf courses such as Royal Palm Golf, Samanah, Golf Assoufid, Atlas Golf, and Montgomerie.
